Muster Drill

I think this was discussed a few months ago. I remember someone saying Princess was trying out a new program. Only those that were Elite and I think Platinum did not have to carry them but anyone with a blue card was required to bring them. We were also on the Grand in October and did not have to bring the vest to muster.
Looking forward to this on our early December 2014 Emerald Princess cruise, we were disappointed to find that life jackets are required of all at the muster drill. Edited by Times Prince

Why are you disappointed that all passengers be as prepared and knowledgeable as possible in case of an actual emergency?

I agree with you.

I don't understand any of these 'do I have to bring my lifejacket' questions.

Princess is pretty careful now at taking attendence at muster drills.

It seems to me that you have to go, and you pretty much have to

follow whatever rule is in place when you are on the ship.

If someone posts one answer, and reality is different, you will still

have to follow the directions on the ship. I don't think 'one' can

print out a cruise critic post, and then argue with the folks running

the muster drill that they are doing it wrong.

Why would I need to know in advance? So I can select an

outfit that goes with orange?

I realize it's heresy on cruise critic, but sometime 'you' have

to actually follow the rules.

I was also on the grand in September and told not to bring it........still had the muster drill, just didn't bring the vest.

We got off the Grand 2 weeks ago and you had to take the life jacket with you, no ifs or buts.

Do we have to take our life preserver to muster drill? I seem to recall that we did not have to on our Princess cruise a year ago.

Each passenger must take their life preserver to the muster drill but do not wear. Don't be a smart ass and blow your whistle at the muster drill.

After years of cruising and reading these boards, I continue to be amazed at the amount of chatter relating to the muster drill. I, for one, want to know where to go if it's 3AM and the ship has a problem.
