Canadian cruisers!!

Recommended Posts

we just purchased $454.00 US for $499.40 Cdn. I think each agent must have their own way of doing things. I'd asked for $499.00US but she said it had to amount to $499.00Cdn. for processing but that we could call back and order more.

That's just wacky!!!

So different from each agent! At least you were able to take advantage of the deal...

HI

I have purchased OBC for a fall sailing, does anyone know if I have unused money on my account can I transfer it to a booking I have for next spring?

Thanks

No. You would have to cash out at the end of your cruise and then buy again for the next sailing.

I don't remember if this was asked and answered yet......Is there a daily maximum you can take out at the casino?

I am not totally sure on this but I withdrew $500 a few times when we were on Brilliance in May so I know you can do that amount. I never asked for any more so I'm really not sure but the $500 is no problem.

If I am understanding correctly, I set up my on board account as a cash account and then I can withdraw $US from the Casino without any additional charges, (thinking this is a good idea to pay for excursions we have booked)

If I then want to have any leftover OBC applied to a CDN credit card can I do so, if I haven't added a credit card to the account originally?

Not sure about that last part. You definitely can withdrawn any leftover OBC in USD on the last night.

Does anyone know if you can do the same thing with Celebrity?

Yes, you can buy OBC via their Gifts By Celebrity (under the Already Booked Tab). Then select Gift delivered on board. You buy the OBC in $25 USD increments and they are currently charging $30.60 CAD. Unlike Royal you can do the purchase online. The exchange isn't as good as Royal, but it is still better than buying USD from a Canadian bank.

Thank you!

I realized after I asked the question, that of course I could withdraw any leftover at the Casino! (not sure there will be any though!!)

Just off Serenade and I can confirm that there was a $500 daily maximum. We tried to get additional out before we docked at St. Petersburg and the casino closed for two days, but were not able to.

Thanks for that response! I won't need more than that in one day:D

We were trying to avoid the nutty lines :)

Same here.. We had about $65 left on our cash account so we just went to the casino and withdrew it before we went to bed.. no problem with that. :D We knew we were done and would be getting off first thing in the morning.

Just bought $1000 obc for $1100 CAD. Saved me almost $200 over the banks rate, easiest $200 I'll ever make, lol. Looking forward to spending it. At least now when I buy a $10 drink its only costing me $11 CAD instead of $13. Every little bit helps.

For those of us who paid in Canadian funds and are out of luck buying onboard credit, does anyone know if you bring CAD currency onboard to put on your account, will you get the same exchange rate? Curious if we could get around it that way?
