Ewoodspark Posted February 5, 2015 #1 Share Posted February 5, 2015 We are taking the UBP plus $200 OBC. As we will struggle to find what to spend $200 on, am I right that you can cash in any remaining OBC in the casino for a 3% charge? Any ideas on how to spend $200 on board if all the drinks are paid for and all excursions are already paid for. I suppose a few bottles of wine :)

daffodiliaz Posted February 5, 2015 #3 Share Posted February 5, 2015 (edited) I once had that same problem. Bought some perfume duty-free. There are also the specialty restaurants or photos if you're into that. Edited February 5, 2015 by AWENINAZ
Rare KeithJenner Posted February 5, 2015 #4 Share Posted February 5, 2015 Maybe a Future Cruise Credit. That would use up $
Pikaia Posted February 5, 2015 #5 Share Posted February 5, 2015 The Daily Service Charge can't be paid with OBC, but you CAN use OBC to give extra gratuities. Go to Guest Services and ask for a gratuities voucher. You'll need the full name of the crew member you wish to tip. Then give a copy of the form to the crew member so that they know it's coming to them.
xcell Posted February 5, 2015 #6 Share Posted February 5, 2015 I was able to cash in my OBC (almost $1000) from my xmas cruise losing 3% which was fine considering now the USD is worth more than the CDN, I made out well on that deal... I was nervous at first, so I only cashed out $200 but later I just cashed the rest without any issue...

teakea Posted February 5, 2015 #10 Share Posted February 5, 2015 I used some leftover OBC to buy a nice watch. Sent from my iPad using Forums
pizzalady1 Posted February 5, 2015 #11 Share Posted February 5, 2015 Definitely a FCC--it will be a totally free deposit on a future cruise. That is the first thing I get with non-refundable OBC.

However, the OP specified that she's talking about NCL promotional OBC.

Debde Posted February 5, 2015 #16 Share Posted February 5, 2015 The Daily Service Charge can't be paid with OBC, . So-the OBC of $300.00 we received as one of the promotions can not be used for the tip/service charge at the end of the cruise?? I wonder why?? Being we got the UDP and UBP I thought I'd use that 300 for that.:( If I can go to customer service and cash it out-I could then hand it right back to them towards my bill-right?? JMHAM1 Posted February 5, 2015 #17 Share Posted February 5, 2015 Maybe a Future Cruise Credit. That would use up $150 YEP, YEP, and YEP! We had the fantastic problem of having to spend a $2200 worth of OBC's (2 suites). We don't drink, booked out excursions on our own, we used them to pay the DSC and some specialty restaurants. We bought some Christmas presents in the shops, used them to tip our room steward, butler and consierge. After that, we had enough to buy two FCC's! SCORE!! Never mind. Sometimes a Google search is better then a forum search. Now I get the difference between OBC via promotion and pre purchased OBC!! :o

You cannot cash them out at Customer Service since they are non-refundable OBC. You can cash them at casino, with 3% charge. NCL does not give you money (OBC) to use for tips/service charge. OceanDreaming2 Posted February 6, 2015 #20 Share Posted February 6, 2015 If you have "refundable OBC", and have anything left over, NCL will send you a check in 6-8 weeks.
