Best way to CBD Sydney from airport

Can anyone advise as to the best bet to get from the airport to a hotel in the CBD. Thanks in advance for your answers.

I find the train from the airport to be very efficient, cheap and reliable.... depending on which hotel you are staying at you can often roll your luggage from the station to the hotel within a few minutes with only some stations having stairs, most have escalators...

Hi,

Agree, however give some thought to the amount of luggage you have, and your level of mobility.

At the airport, there are many bus services (mini buses that squash you in like sardines) offering to take you to the cbd, but be aware that they stop at many inner city hotels and hostels and it can take forever!!

The trouble with the Airport / Hotel shuttle buses is that you will get there eventually after a "cooks tour" of every other hotel on the way and within the CBD . Best bet is the train from separate underground stations in both the International and Domestic terminals .

Take the City bound train and it goes first to Central then underground around a city loop to 5 city city stations . Just find the nearest underground staton to your hotel ( Central, Town Hall, Wynyard, Circular Quay, St James or Museum ) and walk from there .

Circular Quay is within easy walking distance of the Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay .

We took the shared transportation option on Viator tours. We had to wait (inside) about 30 minutes for the driver, but it was reasonable and good service. They had a "short bus" with a trailer for luggage. We only had one other couple in the van so we were actually the first stop. Definitely a decent option for the price.

I always get the train from the airport into the CBD. It's super easy and quick. Whether this works for you or not will be largely down to how much luggage you have and whether you can manage moving it yourself.

Uber Black is legal and is the town car version of the service - you will get a high quality car. I've not tried an airport pick up though.
