Hi- we are booked on the pride April 5 out of baltimore. Know it will be packed, easter week but only week we can travel. I have booked faster to the fun and would be grateful for any tips etc you can offer regarding arrival time or anything else you would like to offer. We are driving up just from DC and can plan port time arrival pretty much anytime. Thanks!

It gives your baggage priority to your room, it gives you priority boarding, even if you don't get there early you will be placed in an area to board very next and it gives you priority disembarkation. You can get off the ship early am if you like they tell you where to meet you go there and when the ship finishes customs they escort you with saved elevators down to the disembarkation deck. We always book it up.

This will be our first sailing with FTTF. We are looking to get off the ship ASAP as we will have a 15 hour drive ahead of us. We have no problem using self-assist for debarking, but would we get off even before self-assist if we use our FTTF for debarking?

IF you have FTTF and you carry your own bags you should be told the "secret" meeting place for the priority passengers and should be able to debark with them or right after them BEFORE self assist.

Group 1 would be for people who leave their bags outside their door and do not take them off themselves.

That will be after self assist.

There's tons of info on FTTF on this site. Here's what you get at the Carnival site:

Priority Check-in with Express Boarding

The quicker you board the ship, the quicker you're holding a frosty drink.

Guaranteed Stateroom

Your stateroom will be ready as soon as you board, so you can relax or freshen up for the fun you're about to have.

Express Luggage

Your luggage will be expedited to your stateroom so you can unpack and get settled in for a great vacation!

Guest Services

You'll have a dedicated phone number and line at Guest Services so you can quickly have your questions answered.

Dining Reservations

Priority Main Dining Room and Specialty Restaurant reservations (excluding Your Time Dining).

Tender Priority

You will have the option to choose a priority tender from the ship to shore (multiple departure times may be possible), so you can explore ashore as quickly as you would like.

Debarkation

We're always sad to see you go. But when your cruise is over, you may choose an early or late disembarkation time upon arrival to your homeport.

----------------------------

I don't call it FTTF, I call it FTYW (Faster to Your Wallet). Carnival says it right here:

Priority Check-in with Express Boarding

The quicker you board the ship, the quicker you're holding a frosty drink.

That "frosty drink" costs you some "frosty money," so bring a credit card with a low balance.

Also, Platinum and Elite have the same perks except that Platinum and Elite have debarking and embarking privileges before FTTF.

Have a great time! You're far braver than me cruising at Spring break!

Arrival in Baltimore is a little later than ships in Fl. There have been times boarding doesn't even start until around 12:30. I usually plan on getting there around 11. That way I know some people have already left the parking lot and I can get in. If I can board right away, great, but that is not always the case.

I agree, have traveled to Baltimore 3 times, and they have not let cars in before 11am. One time it was 11:30am before they let the cars through.

How, when and where do you purchase this FTF? We aren't going until 2016 but would like to purchase it. thanks for the info.

The same place online you would purchase excursions. It will be listed under the home port. If you see one available, don't wait, they go fast for most cruises.

self assist is by far the quickest way off the ship.

This "ain't necessarily so". If you have luggage express, involving air lines... (if available) you will be off the ship, and on your way ahead of the self assist crowd.

I've done/witnessed this a couple of times.

Now, if you are providing your own transportation, this may be true.

So what if you are not driving and staying at a hotel that is providing a shuttle to the cruise port? If they aren't letting cars in for parking there, will there also be a "waiting line" for the shuttles dropping off too? I'm wondering what time we should schedule our shuttle to the port.

We had the FTTF on the dream this past week. It was well worth it...just for the boarding alone. We were behind schedule and arrived right at 12:30. The place was PACKED. It would have been hours before would have been able to board. But it only took about 15-20 mins. We got some dirty looks from others. ;)

Only thing was that our luggage wasn't priority. So that part didn't work out like it should. The tender priority was great for Belize and we got off the ship this morning very early. So all in all it was worth it.

Yes FTTF gets off first before self walk off and your also given saved elevators to take if you don't want to use the stairs. I am speaking from my own experiences.

Not in the case on the Dream. The self assist got off first. If you were FTTF and self assist you got off first. But we had checked luggage and had a 2 on the dembark number. So we were escorted to the dining room with platinum/diamond and got off first after all self assist.
