Can I use the Classic Package in this wine room?

From what I can understand, so far I cannot use it in the Molecular.

Are there any other off -limits for the Classic?????

Not for the Menu martinis at the Martini Bar ;)

Yes, you can use the classic package in Cellar Masters. You will find it extremely limited for your choices of beer or wine.

Personally I gave up on Cellar Masters. I had the Premium Liquor Package & still was unable to purchase wines of my liking. I then purchased a $100 wine card to have complete access to all of the wines. My frustration grew even larger as I encountered the following issues.

Unusual hours for any server or host available to answer questions

Several machines broke-down unable to use

Encountered many times the bottles were empty & not replaced

Sometimes it would take 15-20 minutes to get some help before the early sitting dinner to obtain a glass of wine

Unable to use the $100 card to it's full value due to all these problems. Use about 50% of it's value. ( on a 12 night cruise )

Forced to order bottles of wine at dinner, if we wanted something drinkable

( the bar offering by the glass red or white are poor & not drinkable for us )

After several cruises with Celebrity, I now settle for the Classic Package & order wine by the bottle at dinner.

I am not a wine snob, just enjoy a pleasant wine. Very difficult to find a wine today on the menu for under $40.

Celebrity, like any other cruise-line wants to make a large profit on their sales of alcohol. I get it...

I hope you can make Cellar Masters work for you. It is a very quiet & pleasant atmosphere. I really like the room, the serve levels just don't work for me.

John, which ship were you on? I find Cellar Masters varies from ship to ship. Like you, I am very particular about wine (am probably a wine snob) and buy the beverage package and Cellar Masters packages. Have experienced your frustration but have also had awesome experiences with Cellar Masters.

Celebrity needs to work on getting a better wine list for the Classic package. The selection is very small and I was not able to get any Sauvignon Blanc on my last cruise. They were out of Rodney Strong Merlot, which is usually on the list, though they did find a suitable replacement. I normally purchase a Cellar Masters wine card, but did not wish to spend the money because I had the Classic package.

It can't be used with the wine machines that dispense wine automatically! For this you have to buy a separate wine card,

Hi there, just back from Solstice and wanted to come back and post some info based on our experience.

We had the premium package which was for us very well worth the upgrade. We are not huge drinkers but on holidays we do like to have a nice cocktail or wine before or after dinner, try new drinks, have a cappuccino or a sparkling water.

To answer your queries regarding the Classic package, you could purchase some wines at cellar masters by the glass but a very small selection. For example for white, you would choose from a Sauvignon Blanc or a Chardonnay.

For the molecular bar, as all cocktails are priced $15.50US there were none included in the classic package.

To be honest, the cost of the upgrade is normally approx $12US per day. If you can afford it I definitely would go for it as it really makes a difference. It is a lot of easier to order a cocktail, beer or wine as most are included in the premium package.

At cellar masters, it is a wine bar so as you can imagine, specialising in wines they do also have some very highly priced.

However at cellar masters, we had quite a large variety of wines that we could select from that was included in our package, same at the dining rooms.

The great thing about the premium package as well is that if you do decide to treat yourself to a wine that is a little more in cost, you only pay the cost difference between the beverage allowance and the cost of the glass. Whereas with the classic package, you would need to pay the full cost.

Hope this helps a bit!

Keep an eye out for a review on Celebrity forum hopefully later this week!

Were it not being on a 16 day cruise and already having a problem with paying over $1800 for 2 we might have done the Premium. I've never sailed Celebrity before, and from some of the feedback, i.e. having trouble getting Classic package alcohol in the dining room and other places, and having to pay for sandwiches at one of the restaurants, it may not be the line for us. I feel a bit of a nickel and dime issue and haven't even boarded the ship. I'm hoping that some of you posters can tell me otherwise.

If all the dining options were free of charge then there wouldn't be places to go and enjoy a quiet lunch etc... For us the fee paying extras are well worth it to be able to enjoy a lunch with friends without the hustle & bustle of the buffet!

We love the chilled out atmosphere of the porch during a nice hot sunny see day [emoji41]

There are plenty of options for drinks within the package...

If you do like a decent wine or a better beer then the basic options or even a fancy cocktail then it might be worth while paying the extra to upgrade to the premium package... If your going to try 1 molecular bar drink or 1 proper martini then it pays for its self already! Plus all the extras you get with the premium package makes it a no-brainer for us... Not to mention the 5 + molecular/martinis each night... [emoji483][emoji485][emoji483][emoji485][emoji483][emoji39]

We enjoy doing other dining venues also. Just irks me to pay for a sandwich on a cruise.

I can understand that and if that's your choice then just eat in the free venues as there are various options available... [emoji4]

You also have the option to upgrade mid-cruise (I believe with at least 3 days remaining, check onboard) so if you decide the classic isn't good for you or you want to try the premium towards the end of the cruise, you have that option.

Pretty sure room service had a sandwich offering free of charge, as well as sandwiches or sandwich bars readily available in the buffet free of charge.

Celebrity as with most other cruise lines are great because you can experience so much for no additional cost, however one of the great things I've found with celebrity is that they do have a few special offerings at a small cost if you do want to avoid the crowds, which is what I loved.

Everyone is ofcourse different, however for us on a sea day, we found it worth the $7 bistro on 5 cover charge to have a soup / sandwich / crepe lunch away from the buffet crowds.

Our greatest frustration was sailing on the Reflection. No one seemed to care, never received any answers to service issues, & rarely even acknowledged as a potential customer, or as someone who has been waiting for their turn, only to be bill-dogged by a push customer & having the server completely forget that we were next to be accommodated.

We recently returned on the Silhouette & very much had the same experiences minus the broken machines.

Our issues I think are about staffing & Celebrity having personnel in Cellar Masters during peak times. Before the dinners & shows in the theatre.

I think Celebrity is losing a lot of potential business in Cellar Masters. I have never experienced a full room. We love the décor, the interesting people you can meet, & pleasant atmosphere.

After 4 attempts on different sailings to make this room work for us, I have given up.

Hey folks, be aware that Cellar Masters is no longer on Equinox. They have taken it away (we actually love it for quiet during cocktail hour. Martini Bar way too noisy with music, but that's another topic). It is now a beer place.

I imagine if this works for them they just might change the other ships also.

Seems like it didn't work. On the Eclipse they have decided to leave Cellar Masters and are putting the GastroPub in place of the Passport bar instead.

I found it was one of the nicest, quiet spots to read a book. I never could figure out a time to actually order a drink there -- seems it was either empty (no wait staff) or there was some special event going on in there.
