Disembarkation ... specifically Nautica in Istanbul

We're looking at arranging our forward air travel (domestic) once we disembark in Istanbul after overnighting on the ship. We're very familiar with the city, so no problem there. The question is how does the disembarkation work on Oceania ... this will be our first cruise with the line, so have no standing that might give us priority, and we're in a B1 cabin if that matters.

Thanks in advance for any information.

You will fill out paperwork before the end of the cruise and your flight time determines when you leave the ship not your cabin..easy peasy..

It can be quite a zoo leaving the ship, but it's much less of a problem on an "R" ship as compared to Marina or Riviera. When we left Marina a few years ago in Istanbul we didn't have a reservation for a cab and it took forever for us to get one. There were lots of cabs there, it was just a matter of getting to the head of the line. Whereas when we left Regatta (where we DID have a cab reservation through our hotel) it was a piece of cake.

There are plenty of cab services that you can order in advance. If you are heading for the airport (and also depending on the time of your flight), I'd suggest that you do so. The ship will do its best to get you off on time!

Thank you all. We have friends in Istanbul, so they will take us to the airport, and if not, we speak the language and have traveled in Turkey quite a bit ... don't plan to have too much luggage, so worse case, we'll leave the port, cross the street and hail a cab as we have done in the past ;-) I just wanted to make sure O's disembarkation process wasn't too dissimilar from what we're used to on other lines, and looks like it isn't.

Looking forward to our first O cruise.
