I Wish Princess Would

Many of the fellow passengers were very upset with a passenger who "was allowed?" to bring her Pekenese dog onboard with her. No one is sure what she had to do or say to bring it on. Dog was wheeled around in a special doggie stroller and allowed into the dining room and all other areas. Owner also feed it from her plate in the dining room.

Many passengers are getting flee bites and some are outraged that the crew are expected to clean up the dogging toilet area.

This is NOT A SERVICE DOG, it is a pet and should not have been allowed on for the WORLD CRUISE all 111 days. Many passengers say that they would also like to be allowed to bring their pet along instead of boarding it.

One passenger said it ruined her cruise since she is especially frightened of small dogs having been bitten by one years ago.

We were on that cruise and agree totally. Those people and there dog were so annoying. They would stroll into the dinning room 30 minutes late like they were arriving dignitaries and allow the dog to sit at the table. Yikes!

I wish princess would give more details about where ships will dock i.e addresses or exact positions on a map. I like being informed and enjoy playing around with street google before I go to places. I dislike all the guessing as to how far places I want to visit will be to walk to or visit by taxi. Sometimes I think Princess is intentionally vague in order to sell their ships excursions.

I wish Princess had cabins like Solstice class ships in the Celebrity fleet.

Better room service menu I think breakfast is subpar now can't even get eggs on toast but you can get something resembling a McMuffin. yuk.

I wish Princess would do anytime dining on the Sea, Dawn and Sun Princess.

I wish Princess would stop scheduling trivia, port lectures, movies and other activities to finish after the kids club closes for dinner or lunch breaks so we don't have to keep missing the end of these activities.

I wish the Princess spa's had cheaper massages the prices are getting so expensive and the last massage I had was really disappointing.

I wish princess would read this post and make these changes. :p

I wish Princess would allocate my child's internet hours to her or me. She doesn't get any of the circle member benefits even though if she did she would be platinum and I pay full price for her to cruise.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'd add my wish that Princess would sail out of Port Canaveral as well. And make a stop in St. Croix and Cuba. I understand there may be a new "carnival homogenized" port in Dominican Republic called Amber Cove, no thanks, I don't pay for non-local Caribbean experiences. Give me local flavor anyday.

I wish Princess would have a round trip cruise from San Francisco visiting Seattle , Oregon, and Victoria,B.C or Vancouver and back. I've never been to Seattle or Oregon and haven't been to Vancouver I'm sure others would love to do this route.

Actually, there is! It pays to check from time to time!

Nina, can you help us find this? bmench asked about a round trip from San Fran, and the only thing I see that's close is a 5-day coastal from Vancouver to S.F.

Yes, can you point it out? I'm showing it as non-existent. There are round trips from San Francisco that go south but the only ones that go north are for Alaska.

They may be "one off" cruises that aren't offered every season. I did one on Celebrity like this years ago that was offered infrequently.

I would love an itinerary that was round trip from Ft Lauderdale to the Med.

HAL actually does this in March on the Prinsendam. It is called their Grand Med Cruise and is only 55 days (round trip from Ft Lauderdale). We did a similar cruise (only it was 62 days) 3 years ago and it was wonderful. We loved that the first and last weeks of the cruise were days at sea (crossing the Atlantic).

OK, I know this is going to set some people off, but here goes:

How about some color? I know nobody wants another Carnival riot of color, but I think Princess has mistaken beige for elegant, mauve for dignified, brown for stately.

I appreciate not being overwhelmed by color in venues that call for relaxation, but couldn't they spare a can of Sherwin-Williams or two near the pools and the gym, maybe the bars?

I wish that Princess would make their formal night "suggestions" into "requirements". Either that or get rid of them. I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo freaking tired of "formal night" threads.

We dress for dinner in MDR on formal nights. I don't have a problem with that. I just get sick of the constant bickering about it.

I wish Princess would go back to having Future Booking Credits good for 4 vs 2 years....

We had our last sailing a little over 2 years ago; at that time, the on board future sails person told us that Princess could extend it if we asked. Last year (a year after) we had to have our roof replaced (planed for) as well as our heating/cooling system (unplanned for), so we knew a cruise wasn't in the cards for us this year. I e-mailed them, got a voicemail saying not a problem, call and speak to X. Called, asked for X, and Y told me X wasn't in, but she'd be happy to help. Explained what was going on, and Y told me they couldn't do it without having a cruise ready to be booked. I was scrambling earlier this spring to find something for next fall that would work before the FCC "expired", only to go online and see that it was good for 4 years. I'm not sure if it was fixed when I asked last summer or it was that way all along.

For us, unfortunately, going on a cruise every 2 years isn't usually an option, but the 4 year set-up was fantastic

We have been elite cruisers for many years and cruise about twice a year on 14 day cruises in Princess mini suits. My elderly husband is not able to take these trips anymore due to his ailing health so now I have to cruise without him.

I would like to stay with Princess and wondering why they don't offer cabins for solo cruisers. On our longer cruises we see and meet a lot of senior ladies, all having to pay double and most needing to book inside cabins while spending twice as much. Would it really break the financial bottom line to offer some cabins for solo cruisers ??? Not all of us like to share or have friends who are cruise lovers.Norwegian is building 80 solo cabins on their newest ships, but none leaves from the west coast.Just because we are solo seniors doesn't mean we are not spending a lot of money on the ship, check out the bars and the casino.I feel a lot of money could be made by Princess catering to us, just give us some "solo" cabins and loose the upcharge.

Yes. I agree.

I agree. It would avoid a lot of hard feelings! Either turn those not dressed as required away at the MDR entrance (as done on Celebrity years ago), and direct them to the HC buffet, or make it dressy casual every night. Those who want to dress up can always do so anyway.
