Crusin Karen Posted May 26, 2015 #26 Share Posted May 26, 2015 Temps were just right for me, but I do like it cold. (Might be a guy/girl thing...) While critical of the musical shows, I thought the crew was awesome and talented. Loved the piano bar... And, as said before, Ken the maitre d' was great - really enjoyed talking to him. So we were on the same cruise? If you saw the "Love and Marriage" show, I was the embarrassed husband in the middle. Have you been in the casino? When you lst walk in from the atrium it has a nice warm spot then it is like walking into an igloo! We were on the cruises 2 weeks prior to you. 5/10-5/17 and 5/17-5/24. A B2B. Did not do any shows, nor did we visit the piano bar. Friends who were with us on our lst cruise saw the Diane Ford R rated show one night and said they should have worn DEPENDS because she was so funny! So be sure to check her out! poppadevan Posted May 26, 2015 #28 Share Posted May 26, 2015 First time on Carnival (have sailed on Celebrity and NCL). My wife and I are "suite" people and tend to travel a little more upscale than many. I say this only to give you a little perspective on my comments. I was very skeptical about Carnival, but we did it because we had a big group of 20-somethings with us and this trip was for them, not us. Bravo, Carnival! I'm now a true believer in Carnival. :) Surprised at how good the food was. Chef's Table - awesome. Vista suite - great deck, enough for 6 of us to hang out. Would do it again. Comedy routines - very good Musical productions - really disappointing (middle school quality at best) Crew, stewards, bar and dining staff were fantastic. Off topic - probably should have bought drink packages. Any questions? Thanks for your update. Can you tell me if the Pride has the Carnival Hub smart phone capabilities? Also, did you notice who is performing in the Ivory Piano Bar? Thanks again.

jerseyjjs Posted May 26, 2015 #31 Share Posted May 26, 2015 Do you happen to recall when the welcome aboard show is the first night? I'm trying to plan out our first day (I know, I know, vacation, but the first day is always hectic). We want to see the passing under the Chesapeake Bay Bridge, go to dinner, and see the show, but hoping it's not too rushed. You won't be going to dinner after passing the Chesapeake Bay bridge because you won't come up to it until dark and well after departure (about 8 hours after). And you'll be going OVER the bridge, well, actually, the tunnel. It's pretty neat how you can see the cars "disappear" beneath the ship as they head into the tunnel. William Preston Lane Memorial Bridge) about two hours after sailing. Edited May 26, 2015 by Jamman54

thomarvin Posted May 26, 2015 #34 Share Posted May 26, 2015 Did anyone on this cruise, or another recent cruise, stay in the Inner Harbor either before or after their cruise? Did you feel safe with everything that is going on in Baltimore right now? We are staying at the Hampton inn across from the ballpark. I started a thread asking this but it was moved to East coast departures section. I never look there and presume most others don't either. We leave this weekend and feeling a little anxious about staying there. There is a game so there will be lots of people and the hotel is sold out. Not sure if the extra people is a good thing or bad. Anyone??

b6283 Posted May 28, 2015 Author #38 Share Posted May 28, 2015 please don't flame me or get mad, how bad is the smoking:confused:, I really get quite ill and headache etc....thanks in advace Casino is the only place where there is smoking inside the ship and it is well confined and not too bad. The smoking areas on deck are not bad at all and very avoidable.

prophet0621 Posted May 28, 2015 #40 Share Posted May 28, 2015 You will have a BLAST! Just be sure to pack some long sleeve clothes. The public areas are so cold!!! Mitsugirly was on the same cruise as Jamman and posted a great review as did Wrigley80 if you want to check them out too! Long sleeves?? Cold?? in May?!? If it's above 70 it's AC time. :)

Crusin Karen Posted May 29, 2015 #42 Share Posted May 29, 2015 Casino is the only place where there is smoking inside the ship and it is well confined and not too bad. The smoking areas on deck are not bad at all and very avoidable. We were on a B2B. lst week smoking in the casino was fine/bearable. 2nd week it was VERY smoky. Matter of fact, I was sitting at a table in casino having a cocktail and 3 people sat down in the chairs at the same table, lit up and all 3 blew smoke right in my face! It WAS a smoking area, so my bad, I guess. And I am a former heavy smoker so I realize smokers have rights too, etc. etc. It's hit and miss depending on how many smokers you have on your cruise! allentownahoy Posted May 29, 2015 #43 Share Posted May 29, 2015 Does the smoke waft out of the casino to the areas where trivia is played?
Crusin Karen Posted May 29, 2015 #44 Share Posted May 29, 2015 Does the smoke waft out of the casino to the areas where trivia is played? Never played trivia, but I never experienced smoke in any other area than the casino and the smoking areas on the open decks. I am thinking maybe the reason the casino was so darn freezing all the time was because they had the ventilation on?
