German themed lunch?

When I was on the Breakaway last year, there was a German themed lunch once in Modernos one day and it was great. I don't remember if it was on the daily.

 

Anyway, does anyone know if they do that on other ships or if they still do it on the Breakaway? I'm hoping they do it on the Gem.

A couple of years ago on Pearl the head chef was German and had Oktoberfest in February with several types of wurst, schnitzel, and schweinhaxe, plus lots of German beer choices.

WE have had it twice, once on the Pearl and I don't remember the other time, but I actually did not care for it. Of course I am not a huge lover of most German foods. I am a disgrace to the family I guess. My grandparents on moms side came from Germany.

I remember them having something like Carnac described on the Gem and the Pearl.

We have had the german themed lunch on every one of our last 6 cruises. Since most of the ships officers are from Northern European countries, this is the favorite meal for them. The desserts are the best, Apple strudel , Danish donuts with raspberry jam and black forest cherry cake, with real whipped cream on the side. (Caffe Mit schlag)

The only strange thing is the waitstaff in faux lederhosen.:confused:

Jade and Spirit always had them on their Europe sailings. Great food and beer and an oompah band.

First Day At Sea on the Spirit out of Venice on the 12 day Grand Med we enjoyed the food and the music, being from PA.:D

We have had on every NCL cruise- usually sea day late in cruise in our experience. Only at the buffet in Great Outdoors on Pearl and Sun. Really fun and usually all the officers come as mentioned above!

When we were on the Breakaway last week they served the German buffet in Moderna on Saturday. It was very good.

Doesn't look like they do it any special lunches on the Gem currently. Glad to hear they still do it on the Breakaway.
