Wally Alligator Posted January 16, 2018 #1376 Share Posted January 16, 2018 I am assuming most people following this thread received the Casino Royale 2018 calendar. Calendar lists two “Destination” events (Havana & Europe). Has CR run “Destination” events in the past and is there something special about these sailings? Perhaps some extra drawings or something else going on in the casino? Will we be getting emails soon offering super discount rates (complementary?) to sail on one of these? Anyone have insight to share? Thanks, George
OTownNick Posted January 17, 2018 #1377 Share Posted January 17, 2018 The value of the certificates they give onboard must have changed. They are way lower for the amount of time and bets played than I can ever remember. I just got off Majesty. They confirmed onboard I played roulette 15 hours at $100/bet. All I got was a $400 off certificate! Yes I did win money so maybe that factored in some. I do know that if you have a “big” loss they bump your certificate to the next level. So say I lost $2,000 and played all this time and bets. I would have gotten a $500 cert? That’s not worth playing for

That’s not worth playing for Roulette doesn’t rack up the points like the games that have a higher house advantage. I have no issue with that as it makes good business sense. From what I have learned BJ, Craps and roulette earn the least and games like 3 card and Let it Ride rack up the points. Especially the side bets. Rare John&LaLa Posted January 17, 2018 #1381 Share Posted January 17, 2018 That's odd, I don't see 3-card raking in a lot of points. Plus Laura was told they only rate the ante and the bet. Nothing for the bonus or the dealer cards. This was from Rhapsody last spring Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app

Nothing for the bonus or the dealer cards. This was from Rhapsody last spring Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app Spoke at length to the host and pit bosses on Allure in November. Couple of factors why 3 card rakes in the points. It has one of the highest house advantages in the casino When you play late at night (I would close the casino most nights) It was mainly just me and the dealer meaning that more hands were played per hour. When I questioned how they are getting an accurate amount hands played they showed me the pin hole sized light on one of the bet circles that is a sensor. I was easily playing a hand or more in a minute. Everyone I asked not only said that the bonus accumulates points but big points. I tested that theory on night by playing $10 instead of $5 on the sucker 6 card bet. In a three hour session (at most) I racked up over 1500 points by playing only that bet and the pair plus bet on two hands. Wasn't playing the ante for the majority of hands. I think that I am going to test the theory again on Harmony in April.

It slows the bleeding. Laura on the other hand plays $10 on bonus and ante, $5 up top and folds if her cards suck. She only plays a couple nights a cruise and occasionally gets the $300 certificate

peymas Posted January 20, 2018 #1394 Share Posted January 20, 2018 Just signed up for the golden egg hunt cruise on March 24. We were on navigator 5 day 2 weeks ago and I played enough to get an ocean view comped. I couldn’t find anything that would work on the free cruise list. Lots of 4 and 5 night cruises, but not on ships I wanted to go on. Many older ships. Decided to take offer for golden egg hunt inside room. Couldn’t use either of our certificates from navigator. Was able to upgrade to balcony for $150 using husbands $250 off golden egg hunt offer. Does this sound like everyone’s experience? Anyone going on this cruise? BEENSAILING Posted January 20, 2018 #1395 Share Posted January 20, 2018 Just Off Freedom of the Seas and they appear to have started applying your points money directly to your sea pass account. This way you don't have to stand in line to redeem the money for the points you earned. You can use the money earned on points from slot play (in addiiton to what you might get from Casino Host for certificate) on the Sea Pass or to use for more slot play. Lady Hudson Posted January 21, 2018 #1396 Share Posted January 21, 2018 Question about a balcony cabin using casino certificates or casino rates. Is it possible to use the crown and anchor balcony discount with a casino royal certificates/casino rates? Just wondering what other folks have found out. Haven’t booked a balcony in a while so no experience for me. Katherine

Haven’t booked a balcony in a while so no experience for me. Katherine I suggest you call Club Royal and ask them. Tell them what your cerificate value is - if a certificate with specific dates listed on the certificate you are better off using certificate for one of those dates. If not then you can apply the value. Club Royal will figure out your best pricing options - sometimes you can be better off using C and A discounts and whatever promo Royal is offering. Sometimes Club Royal can do things not available on line.
SirRedman Posted January 21, 2018 #1398 Share Posted January 21, 2018 What are "certificates" in the casino; and do you accumulate points that you can trade in for cash (or OBC) like in a regular casino?

The system is currently changing to where points get added to you seapass account and can be used as cash. The more points you earn the higher level “certificate” you earn towards a future cruise. Rare Denversail Posted January 21, 2018 #1400 Share Posted January 21, 2018 I got the impression that they don’t have actual casino rates anymore. I did get some discounts applied to my cruise the other day but they called them promotions and said they didn’t offer special rates any longer.
