i always color up because they get miffed if you don't for just this reason and i am afraid that when they put it in the computer they will short you or something but in any case, i always put my black $100 chips in my purse throughout the game inconspicuously and then color up the smaller chips at the end.

That's what I do and one day the dealer saw my bag of chips I use to store the black ones and he asked if i would color up before I leave the table.

I didn't color up and this skewed my win/loss they had for me. The host told me the last night I was losing at one point $2,000 and then won back and was only down $1,000. I was never down $2,000! Nor did I win back $1,000 from my lowest point (maybe $400?). The most I was down was $1,000 but finished down about $600. Their records are screwy.

By the way, I WON the $500 raffle at midnight on the last night!!! First ticket drawn was MINE! :)

right- i never win big enough to need a "bag to put the black ones in" LOL but i do end up with maybe 2 or 3 that i slip into my pocket or purse when the dealer is not paying attention and i always leave a good amount of other chips up in stacks on the table so that he doesnt notice.

Good for you winning that $500 raffle! WTG

See, that would bug me. If my sailing (March 13 for 7 nights) is under the current program, and a primary benefit of the current program is earning a rebate, and if I have to apply the rebate by March 15, then I'm out of luck. In some sense, it's the worst of both worlds.

Still, I'll keep my fingers crossed that they handle this transition better than I'm expecting.

Marc, you won't be out of luck and you won't lose your rebate, they will give it to you as an OBC or you can use it as a payment towards a future cruise.

Nick, I find it interesting that they told you that you could use the rebate toward any future cruise I, even into 2017. When I asked about that specifically, CR told me I had to sail by December 31.

Mary

Mary, last week I was also told rebates had to be used up by the end of 2016. Yesterday I called asking about my rebate from last week's sailing and CR said it can be applied as a payment onto any 2016 or 2017 sailings or it can be issued as OBC., I choose the OBC.

Got an email today- special casino rate for the $20k golf tournament. May 14 and Oct 15 on Anthem. Calling to see what the rate is....and if it's anything special. Offer Code is 16Golf4

Hi Nick, also received the email for the Golf Tournament. Since I was already booked for the Oct 15 sailing, they added me to their group booking and gave me an additional discount.

We are not golfers and I was invited last year to the Golf tournament on Liberty's sailing in October. The night before our sailing we were all notified by RCI that we would be sailing to Canada  instead of Bermuda due to hurricane Joaquin (Cat 4) battering the Atlantic, the Bahamas and Bermuda

We thought for sure there was no Golf event happening since Bermuda was cancelled the night before our sailing. All I can say is, WOW, CR did an outstanding job at the last minute and re-arranged everything for us at another Golf course in St. John, Canada. It was amazing the effort the CR organizer put into making this tournament happen in Canada along with other things she organized. I was so impressed and wrote a letter to the Corporate Office in Miami, complimenting her on everything she did to make this event happen. She and CR truly went above and beyond for the Golf event.

We all had such a good time that everyone asked to be grandfathered into to the 2016 Golf event. Many great prizes were given out at the Awards Ceremony, that is all I will say, don't want to spoil the great things they did or gave us.

It would be nice to see you again :) if you can make it in October and it would also be nice to see to my other CR friends that I have met at other CR events at this event.

Very happy to hear you won the $500 raffle, nice :)

Just to clarify, I know that I'll get the rebate I earned in October (as cash in the casino on this sailing), but what I won't get is the ability to earn a new rebate on this sailing toward a future sailing.

Marc, yes you will earn a rebate, but that is not what they are calling it. What CR is doing instead of rebates is, whatever you earn after March 15 2016, they will apply as OBC if you want, or you can use that money to make a payment for, or on a future cruise. I earned a rebate on my 2-13-16 sailing and since I have another sailing after March 15, I am taking it as OBC on my April sailing. They are basically changing the name from rebate to OBC so you can use it anyway you like. I'll go to the Cashier and take out my OBC amount, which they will give me in vouchers, which I can use in slots or I can take it in chips.

I am also sailing on Anthem this Friday, because I used a certificate, I am not entitled to a rebate. Now whatever I earn for those 3 nights, I can apply that money to a future sailing or take it as OBC on another sailing.

Strange... that's not what I was told by the Club Royale person with whom I spoke this morning. I was told that I wouldn't get anything post-cruise as a result of this upcoming sailing. The only benefits I'd be likely to see are free drinks in the casino while playing and any potential onboard comps that the casino host might provide.

(Inconsistent information, the hallmark of Royal Caribbean International.)

Call them back and speak to someone else. I have quite a few future sailings that I used certificates and I asked them what happens to the money I earn for each of them. They explained that it can be used for OBC or a payment on a new or existing sailing.

Lucky you. Got a comp stateroom. Inside free is better than paying $1,900 for a balcony lol. If I got a comp offer i would go. Otherwise, I just have too many other cruises booked, and I just booked the 11 night Arctic Circle cruise for June 3,2017 on Serenade that is the most expensive cruise I've ever booked lol. I'm waiting on my rebate from last weekends cruise and since it should be large, I'm going to apply it as payment toward my Arctic circle cruise.

I was just told this week that all rebates and OBC rebates will be a thing of the past come March 15th. 1099's will also come into play. Does anyone know what the new Club will offer? An inside stateroom and free drinks while at sea in the casino doesn't sound too exciting.

On a side note...the machines had been replaced with some new options and I did not see one big winner on board. Many were quite disappointed. :(

1099s? For what? I'm hoping it won't be for the value of the "free" cruises we earn through our play.

I know that they've already started issuing W-2Gs for slot wins of at least $1,200. They had signs up in the casino stating this back in October.

No one has any solid details about the new program except that it's going to be tiered.

Sorry, meant to say $1199 winnings. I have a feeling they are going to do away with rebates and obc and replace it with free specialty restaurants and excursions. Just a guess as it was gently hinted to me.

I have another sailing the end of March and I'll be getting OBC instead of a cash rebate, or that money can use towards a payment on a cruise. Also hearing from CR, slot players may be getting "free play" instead of OBC, which I like. This is all after March 15 and table players would get chips. When I went to the Casino Cashier 2 weeks ago for my rebate, I was asked if I wanted chips or slot vouchers, which was the same on my January cruise, no more cash as a rebate.

As far as specialty restaurants, excursions, spa treatments, etc. those would be additional perks to a CR member, which some people have been getting all along, so that is nothing new. All perks depend on your level of play.

While this is probably okay in practice, it bugs me because what was promised to me was a "cash rebate". They didn't send out notice about any sort of change in the current program, so it's rather underhanded of them to do this.

This is where going to a tiered system which enumerates the benefits a member at a particular tier is entitled to would be exceptionally useful. I've been on cruises where I've been well compensated with perks by the casino host, and I've been on other cruises where the casino host ignored me or wasn't even onboard at all.

I know that inconsistency is one of Royal Caribbean's hallmarks, but it shouldn't have to be expected in terms of the benefits received by a Club Royale member.

I also felt the same as you, being taxed on "free " cruises, lol.

Will be cashing in 2 "cash rebates" on the 13th March

Will see what we earn in credit from the Sunday - Tuesday 15th

And then what we earn from 15th - 20th.

For us we will just apply all future credit, cash, OBC, freebies whatever they want to call it going forward and pay down already heavily discounted bookings

Seeing as I will be onboard the day of the 15th, will be sure to get as much information as possible.

And if cashier pays out chips or voucher instead of hard cash, easy, return after 5 minutes and cash up:D

Happy Days!

To me it doesn't matter if it's cash, vouchers or chips as I will be spending it all in the casino, plus more, lol.
