Offers received from Club Royale (Royal Caribbean)

This is where going to a tiered system which enumerates the benefits a member at a particular tier is entitled to would be exceptionally useful. I've been on cruises where I've been well compensated with perks by the casino host, and I've been on other cruises where the casino host ignored me or wasn't even onboard at all.

I know that inconsistency is one of Royal Caribbean's hallmarks, but it shouldn't have to be expected in terms of the benefits received by a Club Royale member.

I'm

Some hosts are better than others. Maybe you were betting a lot less money, which is why they ignored you. Marc, I 'm just being silly now and still laughing at being taxed on "free " cruises. No offense to that poster.

I have another sailing the end of March and I'll be getting OBC instead of a cash rebate, or that money can use towards a payment on a cruise. Also hearing from CR, slot players may be getting "free play" instead of OBC, which I like. This is all after March 15 and table players would get chips. When I went to the Casino Cashier 2 weeks ago for my rebate, I was asked if I wanted chips or slot vouchers, which was the same on my January cruise, no more cash as a rebate.

As far as specialty restaurants, excursions, spa treatments, etc. those would be additional perks to a CR member, which some people have been getting all along, so that is nothing new. All perks depend on your level of play.

Yes, I just received OBC on last weeks cruise. BUT the host did say that was changing. ??????? I couldn't get any definitive info out of them. :(

Does anyone know if the casino hosts will be replaced with new blood? The host didn't seem to be too thrilled with the new casino rules starting on March 15th. This was also the first time the host pretty much begged for a tip. Maybe it was all BS for a tip? Anyone ever have this happen to them (hinting for a tip)? I was rather strange.

Always tip the dealers, and always the drinks hostesses or hosts, it all goes in a big pot!!

They then put it all on black!!!

Seriously, never tipped the Casino Host, tip plenty enough for the hardworking dealers and drink staff.

As for hosts being replaced, as they have done over the past 5 years already!

Edit: never had anyone in the casino "beg" for a tip, but then we look after the ones that look after us

This trip I plan on not giving them any of my money😎

Thanks Linda

Nikki already looking forward to hitting the Quick Hits!!

How did that #8 do?

Enjoy your next one too:)

Oh, no casino for you?

If she can stand the smoking, those are the best Quick Hits.

8 didn't work at 8, but #2 worked, on the wheel that is, at 10pm ,had $10 on it.

Staying on for the next one, I going down to Vintage now, need a nice glass of Sangria.

Talk to you soon, safe travels😀

I tipped $4.00 for every drink and $2 for every soda. More on the last night. Guessing all said and done around $250. No slot hand payout so did not tip as I have in the past. Was that amount too little? I wouldn't want to short change the staff. Thanks!

Everyone is different, and others circumstances will differ.

I would never put a fixed amount on what is acceptable or not, I am sure any $$ amount is gladly received.

We typically give drinks servers $5 chips, the drinks are free. Like I said they look after us, always check we have fluid and they will be looked after accordingly.

Dealers will get tipped on level of winnings, sometimes it can be a crazy $$ amount, some get lucky some get even luckier;)

I agree with Graham, tipping the bar servers, they take good care of you, also tip the dealers, more if we're winning 😀

It was almost uncomfortable. Now looking back it may have been their last contract and the host took a chance to see what would happen. (?) Who knows. ??????

The host did mention Royal and Celebrity will be exactly the same rules/benefits.

There was uncertainty with what will happen to the hosts going forward.

The rebate and OBC will be gone come the 15th. I gave a "taken a back" look and was quickly told the customers/cruisers will be taken care of. I couldn't get more info other than the "taken care of with a tier system". I like having the extra $$$$ put on the card to spend and would hate to see that go away. If it was just a few hundred dollars it probably wouldn't make much of a difference, but a thousand and up will be felt by some.

Bottom line.....I didn't get a great feeling about the new and better program. Here's hoping I'm wrong.

I would never tip the host. Especially on Enchantment. They screwed up my rebate the last 3 times and it was a hassle to get it corrected. I tip the dealers and like to often BET for the dealer in roulette. Last 3 cruises, I hit the number 8 times for the dealers. Made for some nice tips!

Leaving March 18 for a 10-night sailing on Serenade. Really interested in seeing the new program. We will have 4 sea days which COULD make for a lot of roulette play. However I've decided if I'm up big after just one day, I'm gonna quit and enjoy the rest of the cruise with my wife!! (Famous last words lol). Better to get the bird in the hand than an unknown in the bush lol

...And if cashier pays out chips or voucher instead of hard cash, easy, return after 5 minutes and cash up:D

Happy Days!

On recent Adventure, not a doable. Like a lot of land based casinos, a promo voucher cashed out wins as a "cashable ticket" and remaining voucher amount was printed as a "promo play ticket" for other machines.

I just called Club Royale to find out what I'd be getting. I was told that since my request was placed a while back, I should still be getting a cash rebate when I show up on Sunday.

I have my doubts that this'll actually be the case since I'm sure the casinos have adopted their new system of promotional vouchers, but we'll see, and I'll be glad to report back what I see on my cruise that bridges the two programs.

(I was told that it was unlikely I'd see the new program during my sailing, but who knows.)

On my recent trip the rebate was loaded onto the card to be used only for slots...you also had the option of coded poker chips. If you won at the machine you could print out the voucher for the winnings only. I'm happy with this and hope they don't change the cash on card/rebate option.

Fingers crossed you get the new club rules while on board! They are pretty tight lipped sharing any info....

On a side note...this was different and I had the same amount of points the cruise before last. My card allowed me to drink for free in the casino with no sticker added (cruise before this last cruise) This recent cruise they checked on some paper work at the casino desk and placed a sticker on my card. Both cruises I had unlimited drinks in the casino.

Voucher is a voucher, put it in machine, spin once, cash out a new ticket

Otherwise you would have to lose the full amount, does not make sense.

Join a table with ticket, get chips, play one hand, color up!

A promo voucher is not a voucher that you can just spin and cash out...put a $100 promo voucher in a $1 machine, bet $3, spin and you'll cash out a $97 promo voucher...

So what good is the $97 (they expect you to just lose it, or anything over the $97 pays out another winning voucher.

Sounds like a TITO nightmare. (Ticket In Ticket Out)

I used to work with Casino ticket processing, so this to me is a cashier and reconciliation disaster waiting to happen.

Just trying to understand this philosophy.

Are you saying lose, cash out you get another promo, which is basically useless.

And win more you get a winning ticket and also your promo ticket.

Which Royal ship did this happen on, seeing as new program does not start until next Tuesday?

This is a a major FUBAR before it has even started.

And I have never in any casino in the world ever seen a promo ticket other than one you get for a free key chain.:D

Edit: sorry just read back your previous post, cash ticket and promo ticket, but still the promo ticket is just a casino fund that is non refundable or useable for anything other than losing.

Exactly! You have to lose the entire promo cash/rebate.

Looks like NCL will be getting my bankroll in the future.

I have $3000 promo ticket, basically I might as well throw it overboard and watch the fishes gobble it all up!!

I don't actually have a $3k promo ticket, and if this is the way forward, I never will.

Linda, are there 300 CR VIP members on Anthem currently?

Some little bird told me casino was overrun with high rollers:D

And that's why the new program is going to be as good, if not better than land based casino's.

Sounds like the ole, it's working well, let's break a perfectly good working system, and screw it all up by inventing a new one.

Oh well, it was good for the 15 years being a valued CR VIP member..

I am sure the bean counters are not worried about losing many high rollers.
