What would you expect carnival to do?

For those who want to wear flip flops on wet decks, get a pair of Clarks - I bought some a few years ago, nearly choked on the price of $39 (I always thought flip flops should be $10 or less). However, they are still in great condition & the soles on them are non-slip & fairly thick, so they are not only safe, but comfortable. Mine are not blingy, so I typically wear them to pool, hot tub, shopping, hanging out, etc. They are my favorite out of all my flip flops.

So, on our last cruise we got to talking to some fellow Tennesseans and noticed one of the ladies had her foot in a cast. In asking about that we find out that she had slipped on some spilled beer on a marble floor and broke her ankle, on the 1st day of the cruise. She told us that she and her husband were sharing a cabin with another couple and that they were thankfully able to get refunds on the excursions they had already paid for.

If the incident happened on the first day of the cruise they could have tried to invoke the 110% great vacation guarantee through guest services.

But other than that, they don't "deserve" anything other than what they were offered. IMO

When I was on the Legend out of NY many years ago maybe 2005 or 2004 I broke my nose. I was walking out of the casino towards the coffee shop and if you are familiar with Spirit class chips you know there is a support pole right in front of the fountain there on the left. Well there was this women with these giant boobs hanging out I wanted my husband to see and I was yakkin with him and pointing at her and bammm right into the pole..my glasses hit into my face and I broke my nose. Blood every where. They couldn't have been nicer to me and of course I didn't want a thing from anyone..bad enough I had to fill out a report. Hmm let me see I was gawking at this womens enormous boobs..lol. They sent us a free dinner in the steak house and called my room a few times. I guess it just depends on the ship.

on our last cruise my husband had a light fixture fall off the ceiling onto his head in the dining room. An officer immediately came over and took a report. After that, nothing. Not a call, not a card, no kind of apology whatsoever.

They should have at least called to make sure he was ok.

Later in the cruise we noticed many other loose light fixtures in the same dining room. Wouldn't you think after someone got hurt they would have checked the other lights? Smh.

omg!

They should have cameras of those in Lido in swimsuits w/o cover ups, men and women, teens, little kids, no shoes, dripping all over the floor. If you slip in their puddle, sue the passenger or parent of who was negligent and not following dress code.

This whole American attitude of "If I get hurt it's somebody else's fault" is just ridiculous. If you slip because you are stupid enough to wear flip flops on a wet floor that's just your own stupidity and nobodies fault but your own.

A true American Shame, and it on the rise. The floor could`ve been wet for seconds before the fall. It could have been on a cruz ship, a medical center lobby, Hooters- anywhere. If they totally ignored it-YES, but I`ve seen too many wet spots.........Uh um........and yellow cones aboard to have any sympathy for said party. I`ll beat up on Carnival for their pricing antics, slowly cutting back on this and that perk, but geeeze, free cruz-SORRY!!! No Way!!!

The OP sounds more upset than the person hurt. First it is none of your business what Carnival was going to do for her. She may not want you to know. Second they did refund her shore excursions. Other than that there is nothing more for Carnival to do.

Flip flops with TRACTION, both on the inner and outer soles are fine on wet surfaces,...it's the smooth ones that are dangerous in wet conditions! 1st hand experience!!!

Adding on....

Crocs have no traction.

Try this brand:

Not only anti-skid....but arch support (I've had foot issues for years...these are really comfortable)

Wow did you tell anyone you thought her wrist was broken? If so shocked they didnt open medical office to take a look.

Surprised they didnt do more to help her.

My daughter cut her foot last year while in the kids club on the Sunshine and required stitches. It was after clinic hours but they called the "doctor" in. We had to pay $350 for the medical care. My daughter screamed the entire time because he didn't spray lidocaine on her foot before giving the shots around the wound. Where the stich were still looks odd and has a knot under the skin. You're ex was probably better off not having been seen by medical on the ship.

When something happens in todays world people are suing everybody and anybody even the dog if he was near by. Years ago you would not have even thought of it. Today you and your overpriced lawyer can go after everything and everybody. :D The sun didn't shine today at HMC I want my money back or I'm suing Carnival.

I disagree about the times we live in being the cause for people being lawsuit happy. Ambulance chasers and the people willingly being caught by them have been around since the days when horses pulled ambulances in America.

OP, it was an accident and nothing more unless they can prove negligence.

My husband fell on the lido deck, inside while walking thru the buffet area to get pizza about 2:30am. I wasn't there, he says it was like Charlie Brown. This was day 2/3. They were mopping so floors were wet and no signs were posted where he fell. as soon as it happened, the staff immediately called medical and they came with a wheelchair and took him down to medical to treat him. He was miserable he rest of the trip and once we got back home. They diagnosed him with a muscle bruised but additional X-rays at home showed a broken rib. They did call several times to check on him, gave him pain meds, etc, saw him twice more due to the pain. Thankfully he is all healed now but he was miserable for a pipe of weeks to the point we were sure he would be able to do his job. We communicated with carnival via email in case that happened but he pushed thru the pain.

Cool! Is there any place that sells them where you can try them on? Not a bad price.

If you read the reviews they mention places like Walmart and CVS....

I got them on line and they are true to size.

And...really skid proof. I couldn't dance in them....my feet wouldn't slide.

ETA....I have a few pairs of "The Maui". I bought size M...my normal size is 7 1/2.

The shoe is one piece....so the thong would not be able to break off from the sole and it looks like it would never wear out and break.
