Update to the Muse Maiden roll call (will continue to update this roll call, unless a Muse Maiden cruiser volunteers to take over this roll call) Ida and I also have decided not to cruise on the Maiden, and will wait until we hear first hand reports from Muse cruisers before or if we will book the Muse.

Hi Wes, Please remove us from the Inaugural Voyage. We love Istanbul but refuse to fly in or out of that city. We will also wait for another voyage.

Dear Wes,

You were a very good sport to start this thread, and we were all obviously excited about an Inaugural voyage. BUT, after all we have read, we think we'll take a pass. This is a bummer as we wanted to meet so many frequent floaters all at one time.

Guess we'll just wait and read the reviews!

To assuage our Muse disappointment, Ida and I are going to Rio (Carnevale :)) leaving on the Spirit (89 days from now) in January (Barbados to Buenos Aires (21 days)). Karen, there are still some suites available, maybe Wayne and you can join us?

Well done Ducttape - I am impressed that you have taken the plunge so soon - the allure of the Spirit must have finally got to you !!!

 

We have not signed up for the Maiden ( already away ) but have decided to take the Monte Carlo to Southampton in Aug/Sept - we are aware there may be Children on board ( hopefully confined to their new space !!! ) but feel that we will have to come to terms with the larger ships before too long, so will try her whilst she is spanking new. The information so far looks interesting with the various Dining Venues, but little attention seems to have been paid to Guest feedback on the Bar & Theatre - time will tell.

 

Hope to meet up with you again before too long.

You can count us out of the maiden voyage. We have booked the Lisbon to Southampton voyage, though. Still lots to come out about the design details according to my TA so how bad can a brand new ship with some updated features be? Demographics are changing for the industry. We all have the freedom to make our own choices as to whether or not it works for us.

The growing lack of enthusiasm on this board for the Muse is quite interesting. The steady whittling down of the maiden voyage roll call is worthy of an Agatha Christie mystery. Perhaps this thread should be renamed “And Then There Were None”.

The buzz around is that there is nothing exciting or unusual about the 'MUSE' that would distinguish it from any other voyage or boat...so why bother joining a WC when there are many other options! N'est pa?

Don't know what all the fuss is about. The maiden voyage(s) are always full of problems; ie sea trials. I remember clearly all of the initial problems the Spirit had. We didn't get aboard until Lisbon for the maiden Transatlantic and the ship had been in the Med for a while by then. The Chief Engineer was up to his rear end in alligators all the way to Ft. Lauderdale. Give it a chance to settle down; I'm sure it will be a great ship when all is said and done.

Don't speak for everyone. We have opted out because the timing is wrong. Once we have sailed on her (although that won't be until 2018 at the earliest)we would be in a better position to make informed comments. We like the look of it.
