Kiwi Kruzer Posted July 21, 2015 #26 Share Posted July 21, 2015 The Pearl is scheduled to dock in Mooloolaba twice more this year, on August 21 and October 6, and the Pacific Eden will visit during its 12-day cruise on December 18. All three cruises are already sold out. Shows the demand is there for "winter" cruising in Queensland.

qualifiedcruiseologist Posted July 21, 2015 #28 Share Posted July 21, 2015 Is 'winter' code for cyclone season:eek: If there was a cyclone season, winter would have the least chance of getting a cyclone. However in the sunshine coast there are no Cyclones.

There are also cruises scheduled for next year as well as a call into Moreton Island if you do a search on the P&O site or one of the Aus cruising sights.:)

Rare MMDown Under Posted July 21, 2015 #34 Share Posted July 21, 2015 Shows the demand is there for "winter" cruising in Queensland. I agree that it shows that there is demand for cruising in Queensland, outside the main cyclone season.
Rare MicCanberra Posted July 21, 2015 #35 Share Posted July 21, 2015 Blooper That would explain it. I agree that it shows that there is demand for cruising in Queensland, outside the main cyclone season. Even in cyclone season they tend to just rearrange the cruises to suit and go where the weather isn't as bad.
Greensteam Posted July 22, 2015 #36 Share Posted July 22, 2015 Just got back from the Pacific Pearl Mooloolaba trip last weekend. The weather on the day was beautiful. The ship used its four tenders and later in the day was using a charter boat "Whale One". It seemed to take ages to get everyone ashore unfortunately. The boats came ashore at The Wharf Tavern with a very short walk across the road to the Mooloolaba Underwater World. Another short walk and you're at the beach, not that it would be very nice for swimming that time of year but obviously some still do. The cruise home was a little bumpy. The lack of sick bags in the staircases showed that some were finding it rough going ... but overall ... it was a great short trip.

The sick bag supply is always a good indicator as to how rough it is.;)
