Dance class, improv, and other activities questions

Wondering if anyone had any favorite activities they might recommend. We're cruising on the Summit in August (very excited) and I had a peak at the daily schedule from May that some nice person posted so now I want to know everything.

 

Some of the tours "behind the scenes" look really neat and I'm looking forward to the shows in the main theater! But I am curious about the improv classes or dance lessons -- what are they like? Are the dance classes strictly for couples?

 

And are the cocktail tastings expensive? Are they included in the regular or premium drink packages?

 

What other activities do you enjoy most aboard the Summit? Thanks in advance everyone!

Dance classes aren't only for couples. I've never heard of improv classes, and we were on Summit last month. The tastings vary in price, depending on what tasting you try, but most are in the $20 to $25 range and are definitely not covered under any beverage plan.

Thanks for the information, we may still end up doing one or two of the tastings, especially for whiskey or scotch ;-) because uh, it's always good to learn something new!

gal who led an Improv event......I wish I could remember her name:eek:

I think it was Nancy but don't quote me on that.....I do remember

it was alot of fun:D but honestly, I don't think I have heard/read about

it anytime recently.....I enjoyed attending it. There was audience

participation too. I chose to just watch but the folks who were on

stage seemed to have a really good time:)

 

And Tracie, is correct....different prices for different tastings.

 

Many cruises that I have been on also have a "Chef's Challenge".......

that can be alot of fun too:D

I understand that Justin Short is actually returning to the Summit as activities host instead of going to the Millennium. If he is on your sailing, you may find he makes a lot of activities fun just by his presence. Trivia, line dancing, party games like Taboo, a karaoke contest, etc. We also thought the officers vs guests pool volleyball game was fun to watch. The crew are great sports.

We had Nancy Walker and her husband Marshall Stern on our two Millinium cruise this April/May. They did 5 or 6 improv sessions on each cruise. they were a lot of fun with a good deal of participation. Marshall also did talks about buddhism in the theatre and helped her out with the improv.

We had a couple doing Improv on the either the Eclipse or Solstice last year; can't remember which cruise it was :o

We're crusing on the Summit on Aug 30. The recent dailies I've read for the Summit Bermuda cruise include two improv events at the Reflections lounge. So be sure to read the dailies!

On the Summit Bermuda cruise we enjoyed Watercolor with Sue. You don't have to be an artist to have fun. Sue is great.
