shellunderwater Posted July 25, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 25, 2015 Dang RCL. We are past final payment on a cruise. The W is only a few dollars more than our JS. Called about changing, they want to take away our OBC. I knew it was a possibility, but tried anyways. Just don't get that model. I guess a W is considered a downgrade, even though it's more money. End of rant. No flaming necessary.
knittinggirl Posted July 25, 2015 #2 Share Posted July 25, 2015 If you go to a W - Guarantee, you'll probably get a JS anyway. I'd keep your current booking.

shellunderwater Posted July 25, 2015 Author #4 Share Posted July 25, 2015 We aren't gonna pay extra $200 PLUS lose $300 in OBC. $200 would be like hitting the casino with $200.... but no way for $500.

Every time I had a W guarantee I got a beautiful JUNIOR SUITE !
Starry Eyes Posted July 25, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 25, 2015 In your shoes, I would not even consider paying $20 nonetheless $200 or $500 to go from JS to W. If you did so, clearly at least one JS would be available (your old one plus any other available JS's),so the odds are good you'd go right into a JS, maybe the same one, maybe a worse one. If it was before final payment and the price was lower, I might take the gamble, but not in the situation you describe. Go to the casino or do something fun instead. celly Posted July 25, 2015 #7 Share Posted July 25, 2015 Every time I had a W guarantee I got a beautiful JUNIOR SUITE ! That's what we got too when we upgraded to a W: a JS! We were not happy as within 8 hours of upgrading to a W, the JS were selling for $ 249.- p.p. less than the W. And the GS dropped to what we had paid for the W. Royal refused to apply the 48 hour price guarentee, they said it was not applicable when upgrading...... So you'd better keep what you have and your OBC. Enjoy your JS and your cruise! cb at sea Posted July 25, 2015 #8 Share Posted July 25, 2015 A JS is a fabulous cabin to cruise in! While it's possible to get something better than a JS, it's more unlikely than not.
