Rafa Posted July 30, 2015 #1 Share Posted July 30, 2015 Wife and I will be going in FOS this October (Western Caribbean) and I was wondering what are the best or better menu items in the MDR that must be had. I wouldn't want to miss an entrée, dish or dessert that is only offered on a given night because I didn't know about it. Any advise will be appreciated. Thank you. Please note that I tried searching for a thread that covers this topic but I did not find one. I only looked over the last one year but if there is one and I missed it please point me in that direction. Thank you. Rafael

Rare John&LaLa Posted July 30, 2015 #5 Share Posted July 30, 2015 (edited) Rosemary Lamb Shank Key Lime Pie put me down for Key Lime Pie as well. However, it is also an indicator that the cruise is over. :( Oh, and avoid the sugar free version. Edited July 30, 2015 by John&LaLa
epcopres Posted July 30, 2015 #6 Share Posted July 30, 2015 The cheesecake is pretty good too. Last trip my wife ordered 3 slices. 2 at dinner and one in the room fridge for later
bonvoyagebites Posted July 30, 2015 #7 Share Posted July 30, 2015 I am following this thread for our October cruise. I really look forward to trying out a new cruise line, and making another "food porn " video to share.

casinostreer Posted July 31, 2015 #10 Share Posted July 31, 2015 We were actually VERY surprised in the fillet on night 2. We are steak lovers - and though it wasn't cooked as rare as we like it - it had great flavor and was very tender. Also - escargot is always great! We're doing the Eastern on FOS in October (probably right before or after you.) Happy Cruising!
emeraldcity Posted July 31, 2015 #11 Share Posted July 31, 2015 MDR for lunch on sea days ... must have the salad ... and if they offer the cherry crepe, you owe it to yourself to indulge. Be on the look-out for the bay scallops appetizer one evening in the MDR. And don't pass up the Baked Alaska. I know I never will. oh ... and you do know about the savory bites ... right? Rafa Posted July 31, 2015 Author #13 Share Posted July 31, 2015 Savory bites, what are those? I know nothing about them, tell us more - more... Thank you everyone so far. Your entry will make many other cruisers have a super special vacation with RCL. Please - please keep them coming!! Do repeat an entry/menu item, the more popular it is the more anxious we will be to have it.

mad-dog74 Posted July 31, 2015 #18 Share Posted July 31, 2015 For me... the lasagna, baked alaska, roasted turkey, prime rib, key lime pie were my fav's... I also liked the chilled soups, french onion soup. The only desert I wasn't too fond of was the rum cake.
lah66 Posted July 31, 2015 #19 Share Posted July 31, 2015 All the chilled soups are amazing! Love the savory bites! The horseradish salmon and braised duo of beef were two of my favorites! In the MDR, we love the honey stung chicken and bread pudding! Does RCI have the amazing spring rolls, or is that NCL? Wow, I think I will have to try the Key Lime Pie in October! Lots of votes here! Brigbound Posted August 1, 2015 #25 Share Posted August 1, 2015 (edited) Roasted duck main entree is good. I also found later that evening the WJ had it on the buffet line during their dinner hours. I'm ashamed to say a late night duck binge ensued. [emoji17] Edited August 1, 2015 by Brigbound
