Oasis of the sea suite holder review from Western Aug 1st sailing

Recommended Posts

The Mexican place, Sabor, was excellent. Get the sangria and you will be happy happy. Share food, they give generous portions.

Cheers!!!

Margaret, Michael and Allen

Thanks for all the great tips. Since you had the drink package, I'm guessing the drinks in Sabor (like your sangria) were included, is that correct? Great pic in your last post by the way. Love drinking a rum concoction out of a pineapple!

Yes ALL included. The sangria is either $9.00 or 11.00 (can't recall) and your limit is $12.00 so you get a 00.00 bill :D.

All restaurants had the same policy and I paid zero for the drinks in the restaurants. Only in 150 CP did my martini go over the $12.00 limit, I think were charged $2.00.

Some drinks, not many, do go over the $12.00 cap. You just pay the couple of bucks different. Before you leave Sabor, have them make you a Sangria to go. That way you get to walk with an extra one back to the pool or where ever you are headed.

On Oasis now and if I can add if you are in a suite Gold Card and want to utilize MTD all you need to do is go down to deck 3 American Icon and walk past the people in line and go to the last podiums on either side show them your gold SeaPass card and get seated immediately

Also works great for all shows except the comedy show

Thanks for the review. I LOVE the prom king! lol Did your son get phone numbers/social media IDs for friends he met? I have 3 boys (teens and tweens) going on Oasis over Easter and I'm curious if the kids keep in touch after. You're review is great. Thanks for the photos too!

Thank you so much. As I was planning my trip I made myself a firm promise to write a review so I could share my trip with all of you.

Yes, my son got numbers and email from the friends he met. Two of the girls are from Russia and I think he was on Instagram with both of them yesterday. I also heard, never knew this, they have a new teen club for ages 18 to 20. I think this is great. Because a 20 year old can't drink and can't get into clubs. Also they told us an 18 year old can gamble in the casino.

Oh goodness you are spot on. I would rather get a roast beef (or other really delicious choices) at Park Cafe, in that amazing setting....than to wait in line at windjammer. SO had the roast beef sandwich as snack one day and I tried the veggie soup. Both great

Did you try their salad? They added whatever toppings you wanted. They were very good and I had a few over the week. This was my favorite place for lunch.

Austin would have joined us if he had known this. Since he was 18 he didn't know how he would make friends like he had on past cruises.

I normally don't have Suite Envy. Its just my wife and I on cruises so for 2 a regular room is fine, but when we did our first cabin crawl and saw what the Crown Loft suites are like on this ship, I fell in love with that type of suite. If I ever splurge it will be on this one. Looking forward to reading your review to pacify myself till its my turn on Oasis.

Like you NC teacher:) Our daughter, who just turned 20 didn't come because we also didn't know what programs would be for her. Oh goodness, our kids could have been buddies! Her pic attached. She is a doll!

I heard great things about the senior teen club (Not sure the name) and we met a guy who was 19 that was having a blast.

I didn't try the salad bar but it looked amazing. All fresh and made to order. I think they even had shrimp for the salads.

Ah. I didn't even think of that. The club for 18-20 totally makes sense. It would be an interesting experience to build since it can't feel teen like at all, but also hit the interests of younger adults.

The loft suite was really ideal. You get two bathrooms and even if there are only two of you it can be handy. You get all the suite perks which have so much value. The CLS are only on deck 17 right next to the coastal kitchen and the lounge...it feels like you have an entire floor all to yourself. You can lay in bed on the top floor and always see the ocean going by. And for napping it is great that one person can be sleeping and the other downstairs watching TV or relaxing.

Yes she is! At least those that are reading this will know for their young adult children.

They did have shrimp. John got it in his. He said it was just your standard, chilled shrimp.

we had booked a JS on the Anthem transatlantic, for short money we got a crown loft suite on the Oasis, after reading your review I know I made the right decision.

How was the internet connection in the loft? On the sun deck are there any shaded areas?

Thanks for the great review.

When you go to Royal to complete your paperwork prior to the cruise you will see a button to sign all your waivers. Even though I knew I didn't want to ice skate for example, I clicked the button for all activities because I didn't want to hassle with it on board.

When they see in the sports zone you have pre-signed all waivers, your sea pass card will get a hole punch that looks like a star on it. It lets everyone know for the rest of your cruise that you can do anything...from flow rider to skating!

If you cannot find this button, I encourage you to call Royal's 800 # and they will walk you through it. :)

Thank you and I enjoyed your review. Before your cruise I followed many of your threads with questions and glad to see that all turned out well. I also am glad you enjoyed Chops. We are going to try it along with Izumi hibachi if we can get a table. We want to wait to get onboard to book. I have a lot of onboard credit and don't want to fuss with paying in advance. We have a suite so I hope that will help us out getting a reservation. If not we will just go to Benihana when we get back home, lol.

I know you will not regret it. I wish I had taken more pictures of the room for you guys. The downstairs bathroom is really large and the rainfall shower for 3 upstairs is lovely. On the deck side (we had a view overlooking the ocean and they also have views overlooking the sports deck) it was nice and shady most of the time. Being at the top of the ship you can see for miles and they provide binoculars in the room. Also the difference in the perks for a Junior Suite and the CLS are night and day!

Thanks!:) The concierge was very helpful once on board but you can ask them to book it for you before hand via email. I emailed with Nadia on Oasis before we boarded and she held the reservations and then you can pay once on board to use your onboard credits. She also booked my cabana for me but I was not actually charged until I boarded the ship and it went on my sea pass. Just can idea. And they have the concierge email addresses on this board. Hope this helps

9. Last tip, our room had a scale in it. Don't ever even think of stepping on it:D

Cheers!!!

I just literally laughed out loud reading that. You just made my morning.

We're going to be on the Allure of the Seas next May in the biggest of the Aqua Theater Suites. Your suggestions and feedback is greatly appreciated. And I agree with you regarding Chops. We ate there on the Grandeur earlier this year and absolutely loved it.

With the new suite benefits that were announced earlier this week, I'm even more excited. :D

Thanks Rob! Just glad a few people found my review helpful!

I can't tell about the new suite upgrades. Maybe given you are in an aqua suite...which by the way sounds amazing! Since I will be in a crown loft suite I think that the perks appear to be able the same. I was excited about the drink package included and the dining but that appears only for the highest tier suites.

Can you spot any new changes that will impact people in crown loft suites?

As for Chops, I almost canceled it due to the terrible press it got on the boards. I can't understand it at all. It was the best meal of the trip for us! LOL.

Regarding Chops. I think the criticism was based on unfavorable changes in the menu as well as the increase in price. They reduced the size of the large filet, they discontinued several of the most popular sides and eliminated and/or changed the recipe on the most popular desserts. The food is still great, but people were bothered by the changes and the feeling of "paying more for less."

Sounds reasonable that any changes make people feel unsettled. You go in expecting everything to be exactly the same and the change throws off your night.

In all fairness, my tenderloin was huge and a full 9-10 oz. How big was it before? All the portions were large....who can really eat all that anyway? I got amazing scallops that were served as a starter that could have been a meal in itself. I also got the tater tots, corn and creamed spinach. Then of course a huge cheesecake for desert. Hard to think anyone could leave there hungry!

Forgot to answer that we found the internet connect excellent on the ship. Oasis I have heard is better than others and I have also heard if you have poor connection, they will refund part of your package.

Yes thank you! That is very helpful. I will do that so I am not running around when I board trying to do reservations. Thank you for the heads up about filling out the waivers in advance. I went ahead and decided to fill out our passport information since I was already there. I discovered that my husband's passport was expired! Not a huge deal, if I had not caught it we could have sailed without it but we like to travel with our passports even on cruises. I am happy to say that was one headache we avoided. The application is in the mail!

Thanks so much for doing this review! Great info and only makes us more excited for our Oasis cruise in a few weeks! Can't wait to see CK, as it's been a couple years since we were last on Oasis. Have Chops booked for 2 nights (our favorite place too!) and thinking about the Hibachi experience as well. Will do Giovanni's, Sabor, and CK for other meals. First cruise without one meal in MDR...never thought that would happen!!
