Check it out in October and see if anyone or anything is up there. Hopefully Laura will let me know if anything is going on in September

I will be up there relaxing away from all the noise, crowds, and loud music as well as the screaming adults (yelling at the kids) I would make a nice Cigar and Bourbon lounge.

Leave it alone. That has always been one of our favorite places to spend time. Does every area of the ship have to be filled with constant activity?

It's just to big now, have you been up there since they expanded it. I'm just trying to share some thoughts since we all know Royal reads this stuff. ;)

Your oppinion definately counts.

That was the one area on FOS that we really enjoyed (before). There were very few people up there, no loud music, no bars or loud machines, and a mix of sun/shade which it still appears to be. I personally hope they do nothing with it.

I can understand the sentiment, but its too big of an area now just sitting idle as John's photos on page 1 shows. We know how Royal hates wasted space, so its reasonable to conclude they will do something. Look at what they did with the public aft balconies on the Oasis class. Though it took them what 7 years to realize the boxing ring on this ship was space better suited to selling $200 arch supports?

They could move the Dreamworks sailaway party of here and put a more traditional pool party sailaway back by the pool.

Ok, as a marathoner, I'd like the stairs replaced by a ramp on each end making it accessible and continue the running track up so we could have a big uphill and downhill each lap. Yea, I now, people are trying to sleep. I'll stomp quietly.

They moved them back by Adventure Ocean on Freedom. :o

I think they needed them handy on the Navigator. That must be where they went for loungers for the Grand Suites when passengers requested them!:p:rolleyes: Thankfully they seem to have decided that the cruise fare in a GS merits better than an old pool lounger that was taken out of service!:D

We have cabin 1890 on Freedom next year. Closest one to the St Tropez stairs. I know where I'm headed to get Laura a balcony lounger.;)

Where did they have a 'Boxing Ring'?

And Yes the Ramp would be too slippery for runners and an instant "Law suit" for the greedy and people do have to sleep. I thought of the Ramp in an enclosed area on one ship but have it lead to the Heliport and back down where it would be for "Joggers Only" no walkers or strollers, (either kind).

The Freedom class when, Freedom first came out around 2006, had a boxing ring in the middle of the Fitness Center. It was there in 2008 when I was on board. I think it was removed in the early 2015 refurbishment, but it might have been earlier than that.

Does anyone know if the boxing rings is gone from Liberty and Indy too?

I seem to recall that someone said it bacame a Jacuzzi on one ship. May have just been a wish list item.

It looks like most people want it to remain as is. Maybe they could improve it by expanding the covered area with an awning. It could also be a good place for morning yoga or afternoon stretching. I guess it would really come down to the activities staff at this point.

Yes I agree with a little more cover, Would you go as far as they did with the Oasis front Solarium or just maybe another section of glass in the front to protect a couple rows from weather and wind and a little more shade to the center rear.

I would just add a cloth awning to the existing shaded area. That seems simple enough

Probably just another section I don't like the enclosed solariums. It's like a sauna in there. How about a retractable roof?

I think that was a wish list thing because that is the way it was in the Voyager class.

I am not sure if all the Voyager class ships have highly used Jacuzzis on the fitness level.

Liberty still had the 'never used' boxing ring the last time I was on board, last May. About 5 minutes of the 30 minute Indy episode of Mighty Ships featured boxing from 2008, but a ship TV video from Indy in 2013 shows it still in place, and being used at minute 25:00 of the you tube video.

I think that I saw they had put an area with chairs on Freedom for the Spa and Fitness promo 'courses' to sell products. This is also what they did with a great deal of prime location in the Quantum fitness center.
