My thought on moving casino up there could isolate the smoke. The old Crown Princess and Regal Princess were like that. You could also turn it into a new VCL and make the existing VCL into something like Oasis has for Suite guests.

Tell me if I'm wrong but nothing has changed but the size, right?

Correct, they did raise the height of the glass to deflect the wind.

Has anyone seen this space used for anything yet? Navigator has had it the longest I think

I have not been on Freedom.

On Liberty they had a two wood built in service bars across the front of the pillars. The area had outdoor carpeting. They had sofas on the front of the service bars.

The railing area was constructed in such a way that wind did not affect those sunning near the front or sides and the area was somewhat protected and very private. The teak railings were elegant and of traditional cruise ship style.

Thanks. It was pretty much the same on Freedom. Now that I see those counters, I recall the waiters hanging out there when they weren't serving.

after i finished the poll, i couldn't make up my mind.:o sorry i forgot relocating mini golf, good choice

Given the cabins underneath the minigolf might not be a bad idea and it could be 18 holes. The first time I was on Freedom was her 100th cruise back in 2008 and the mini golf course was already showing some wear. i hit a ball and it went under a piece of carpet that had pulled up on the corner. i tried to retrieve it, but the ball fell deep into the superstructure of the ship and I heard it bouncing around. I envisioned that it ended up in a soup pot in the galley.

One of the choices wasn't to make it like the original St Tropez decks. (topless) I'd vote for that.

Keep it the same makes it a defacto topless venue

Make it the vcl and the now vcl into suite lounge That's a brilliant idea.

Before there was space on deck 11 and 12, now only on 12. Why is everyone argueing for taking away maybe the last quiet place on the open decks of the ship that is not so crowded (until now) and provides a view to the front?

Please leave it unchanged, no waterslides, child pools or even worse a place that costs an additional charge or that is accessible for few guests only.

Kind of like the old VCL debates. Highly underutilized space that is slowly getting absorbed into other venues. Still plenty of loungers on deck 11, they may not face forward, but they still get a nice view and breeze

There was no debate here, that is for sure. They just wanted to add additional cabins and did.

I think the photos I posted earlier in the thread, that are from a blogger on a Liberty PE sailing, show the area was being used quite heavily even from a US port.

With my experience being a 12 night Liberty TA and 2 Liberty and one Navigator MED cruises, I can guarantee that the forward areas were very heavily used in Europe.

I put late night disco, it's got a nice set up for it. The little overhang would be good for a bar/DJ booth. In the daytime it could still be used for sunbathing. The only problem, as others have mentioned, might be the wind.

The wind isn't too much of an issue, at least the 7 days I was on. The glass at the front is 8-10 foot high making the area terrible for sailaway viewing, but it did seem to shield from most winds.

I had voted for a suite sundeck, because I think they should update the suite sundecks to be like Oasis and Allure with a bar and first come first serve cabanas. But, I also like the idea of some sort of an enhanced public sun deck. They could add a full-service bar, maybe some of those big sun-bed type things they have in the Solarium on Oasis and Allure, and maybe some small private cabanas that you could rent. It could be a nice quiet deck to go relax on, but the problem with it now is because it is so unwelcoming..Why would anyone want to go so far away from everything when there's really nothing but a bunch of loungers lined up?

Actually I like it as is quiet and secluded place to relax. But for RCCLs benefit they could use a bar up there for sea days. Otherwise i always liked the quiet of the St Tropez sun deck.

Check it out in October and see if anyone or anything is up there. Hopefully Laura will let me know if anything is going on in September

Split it in half, there's two sets of stairs
