gambee Posted August 16, 2015 Author #277 Share Posted August 16, 2015 The go pro is capable of some powerful shots. Putting a brave face even during an impending disaster. Can you believe that this is the first time I take a picture here. Thank you GoPro and Selfie stick! Everyone asking people to get their picture, not this guy. Just get in, and get out, LoL And here is our Victory picture. All ships in port picture. Well, it is missing the mega yacht.
gambee Posted August 16, 2015 Author #278 Share Posted August 16, 2015 Nassau was as usual full of vendors.
gambee Posted August 16, 2015 Author #279 Share Posted August 16, 2015 This minivan almost hit uncle reversing (Spanish term, I guess I should say backing up) in the middle of the street. Everyone started yelling at the guy. It was nuts! So that is pretty much when I realized that I better start running, or get ready to buy new clothes . And that is exactly what I did. I took off and just yelled at my mom “bathroom”. I figured that if I tried making it back to the ship, I would definitely not make it. My chances were slightly better if I looked around the port. I entered one store and asked one lady if she knew where there was one bathroom, and she basically kicked me out of there. Ahhhh, the all well known Nassau friendliness and charm at its max ;). I kept on running looking for a restaurant, but they were all closed, it was still too early. Then the heavens opened up and behold, there was a Starbucks! I think I had been running for 5 minutes or so. I am unable to put into words what I felt. That is when I really took off running like I was getting chased by a herd of rabies infected wild ponies ready to kill me (is that possible?) :D. I almost tripped getting in, and then ran to the second floor. Once I got there, the male bathroom was locked, just my luck. And guess what? So was the ladies one. That was it, I was done. I felt like crying right there and then. I saw no other option than to start begging for them to rush out, the lady inside heard my cries and she rushed out. Dear Lord, I am reliving that entire situation all over again. So yeah, I started to thank her, and she just yelled, “Just go!”. She could clearly tell I was in distress. After I made it out of the Starbucks, I took a picture, for the all time visual memory, LoL. Which reminds me, I did not even buy anything, I was just dying, and there was a line. I was ready to get the hell out of Nassau and back to the ship before something else happened.
gambee Posted August 16, 2015 Author #280 Share Posted August 16, 2015 Mom and the group were waiting nearby. I told them I was heading back to the ship ASAP. I was not going to let that happen again. They said they would stay behind, and look around. I told just to be careful, and reminded them that they had to be on the ship by 4pm. I did not like the idea of leaving mom behind, but I figured it was a large group and they should be fairly safe while they stayed like that. Ironically, I forgot to tell them not split apart. On the way to the ship.
gambee Posted August 16, 2015 Author #281 Share Posted August 16, 2015 Finally Caught Up! Can't wait to see the rest of your opinions n both the ship and both of Carnival Corp's Private Islands! I have a lot of great pictures of both islands :)
gambee Posted August 16, 2015 Author #282 Share Posted August 16, 2015 Good day to you Gambee!! That is a crew area on the Majesty. :) That was my thought. Seems like a really nice area.
aztekpm Posted August 16, 2015 #283 Share Posted August 16, 2015 (edited) Sorry, about your ummm ... issues ;), nothing worse. Wondering if those eggs benny were kept too hot in the 'warmers' and turned the salmon? I, like you, am lactose intolerant and of course love all things dairy, but when traveling stay far away from foods with dairy, as I've taken pills and not have them work ... so I completely understand how you were feeling and the need to go NOW :D! isaiahsnana Posted August 16, 2015 #284 Share Posted August 16, 2015 So glad to find another Gambee review! I bought a new camera after reading your review of the Breeze (one for myself and one for my daughter)! I had to have repeats of some of your fantastic shots. I first used it on an Alaskan cruise and the results were fabulous. Following along on this one as I am hooked again. Trying to avoid noticing the fantastic GoPro pix so I won't have that investment before our family cruise in March.
cruzinlady1947 Posted August 16, 2015 #285 Share Posted August 16, 2015 Wow, Gambee, I can't even leave for a couple hours and I am so far behind in your review. You are one popular person. Your photos are just amazing. I can't even pick a favorite. I love them all. I can't believe how old the Majesty looked. Our first cruise was on the Carnival Mardi Gras. That was really old and probably a lot smaller than the Majesty. But, boy did we have fun. That was in 1990. When we were leaving Nassau on that ship, we saw the Carnival Fantasy entering the channel and were cruising on it the next month. What a difference from the Mardi Gras to the Fantasy at that time. Some great memories. That started the addiction. Sorry you got sick. That has to be awful. Glad you got better. I'll be following along today, but will be away tomorrow and Tuesday. It will take me a week to catch up, but I'll do it. Keep up the great work. You have the best reviews that I have ever seen. So don't stop cruising. We are counting on you for our entertainment. ;) Now, back to the regularly scheduled program.......:p Gwen

Rare Bimmer09 Posted August 16, 2015 #287 Share Posted August 16, 2015 Gambee- here's a Superyacht for you. She came into St Maarten harbor just before we left on the Ruby Princess and tied up next to us. She is the Eclipse-owned by Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich (who amongst other things owns Chelsea Football Club in the UK). 533 feet long, 13,000 gross tonnes. Carries it's own mini-submarine, has two helicopter landing pads. Crew of 70. Built in Hamburg for 340 million Euros. [/url] Here's a shot showing the forward helicopter pad Norris, also a yacht lover
Newbie Cruiser 2010 Posted August 16, 2015 #288 Share Posted August 16, 2015 I can't pull myself away from your review. Your photos are just stunning. The narratives both informative and amusing. Love all the little personal details. Reading this on my iPad just accentuates how beautiful the photos are. I think you need to teach a class in photo taking and editing. Thanks yet again for sharing this review.

micmacmissy Posted August 16, 2015 #290 Share Posted August 16, 2015 As always another awesome review. Your photos are fantastic. So glad you had a great trip and are sharing it with us. This ship has some seriously hideous decor. It looks like Vegas ate the eggs Benedict and threw up all over this ship! Keep up the great work! LizSS Posted August 16, 2015 #291 Share Posted August 16, 2015 Ahh the majesty of the seas *love* such an oldie, but such a goodie, she really is a beautiful ship inside and out. Perfect for a quick getaway cruise Love the aft pool, the new pics gave me a better understanding of it. Your pictures of the promenade deck were just lovely So sorry about your rough stomach in Nassau, always bring Imodium with you. Seriously. rbflyer Posted August 16, 2015 #292 Share Posted August 16, 2015 I am a newbie who will be sailing on my first cruise on Sep 12th on NCL Getaway and I have already booked my second cruise on Carnival Conquest on Oct 12th. While doing my research I first came across your website, then your facebook page and now this. I have to say I really enjoy your reviews and am glad I found them. I only wish I could invite you for drinks so I could pick your brain about going solo on my first cruise. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and experience. -Rik
jpm1973 Posted August 16, 2015 #293 Share Posted August 16, 2015 Not sure how the rollaway bed compares, but I slept on an upper like this on my second Victory cruise and man was that bed UNCOMFORTABLE. Not sure what it was...maybe the mattress was too thin? Whatever it was every morning I woke up with a sore neck and back. Hopefully the rollaway was at least a little more comfortable for your mom! SameNameAsYou Posted August 17, 2015 #296 Share Posted August 17, 2015 Yay! I'm so excited I strolled across this review. I sailed on the Victory in 2013 and am doing so again in October. I wanted to see what the updates were while she was in drydock. Super bummed they didn't add mini refrigerators though. =/ Can't wait to see more of the review. lvetocruise2012 Posted August 17, 2015 #297 Share Posted August 17, 2015 After we ate, we decided to bring some food to the ladies. But when we opened their room, they had the lights off, and they kicked us out faster than we could close the door. Later in the morning we found out we actually woke my mom up, sorryyy :D. We went back to the casino for one more game, but did not last long there. I think he lost $20 faster than it took to put the money in the machine. We went back to the room and got ready to go to bed. I believe it was around midnight. Ohhhh, I forgot, there are no clocks on this ship! I highly recommend you bring a watch with you, or you will find yourself asking for the time all day. That is exactly what happened to us. For some reason once I put my phone in Airplane mode, the clock got all messed up and it kept changing. Like I said, I will never get Android. So essentially we had no clock, every so often I ask people around me for the time. I went out to the balcony and played some tunes to relax a little while looking at the stars. This is one of my favorite things to do on a cruise, and one of the main reasons that I get a balcony. Just to be able to wind down at night listening to what I want (at a low level of course, I don't want to wake up anyone). It is your very own piece of paradise. In addition to that, it is one of the few times that I actually get to stargaze. Day One End. Wow that was all in day one.[emoji3]. Awesome review! Thank you for taking the time to share. Rare perfect match Posted August 17, 2015 #298 Share Posted August 17, 2015 I'm thrilled to have found a new Gambee review! Thank you for posting the link on your older reviews. I'm still subscribed, so I got the link in my email and have spent a good part of the afternoon and evening reading. You are off to another great start, and I'm looking forward to following along the rest of the way. Even though I'm one of those people who are not planning to sail on the Victory any time soon, I am very much enjoying the chance to see her through your eyes - and your camera lens! gambee Posted August 17, 2015 Author #300 Share Posted August 17, 2015 Sorry, about your ummm ... issues ;), nothing worse. At one point I thought it was the lasagna from the night before, but I react to cheese instantly. Plus, I have been very good with the lactose intolerance lately. It was definitely those eggs, both mom and uncle said so once I got sick.
