caribill Posted August 15, 2015 #7 Share Posted August 15, 2015 There are lots of penny machines. Just do not expect to be a winner. Some let you bet a penny. Some require 50 cent minimum using multiple lines.
ASR1996 Posted September 17, 2015 #8 Share Posted September 17, 2015 Hi Ccruisequeen, We were on the Crown last March and spent a good amount of time in the casino. The casino is a decent size for a cruise ship. There were lots of penny machines. Some we had never seen before in Vegas. Both the casino staff and the bar service staff were great. We actually did pretty well in the casino on that trip. The first night, on the very first machine I played, I won $1,000.00 on a wheel of fortune machine. It was a great way to start our vacation. We did see a few people doing well that week. One lady won over $9,000.00 on one machine. It was really great to see her win so much. It looks like we are both sailing on the Crown the week of October 10, 2015. I’m sure we will run in to each other in the casino. :)

dandonna Posted September 18, 2015 #13 Share Posted September 18, 2015 My wife and I had a miracle last day at sea on the Ruby last January. I ended up splitting the jackpot bingo with another cruiser and we each won $1000. Wife and I immediately went to customer service and paid $800 toward our cabin bill. So we had $200 left. We each took a $100 into the casino and said we would play for 30 minutes and stop no matter what. I went to roulette and wife went to 25 cent slot machine. When we met 30 minutes later I had $346 dollars and she had almost $270. We stuffed the money in our pockets and got the heck out of there. Such a lucky streak in just a matter of an hour or two. Rare Cruise Raider Posted September 19, 2015 #15 Share Posted September 19, 2015 Not on a Princess ship but just off a Celebrity cruise and saw a lot of others winning big money on penny machines. Now, 'penny machines' is a misnomer. You have to play max on most of these and then decide how many lines you want to play. We've won a couple hundred on these before but just saw a man win $16K ($3 bet), and three women win, one with a $3700 ($1.50 bet) jackpot, one with a $1000 win (0.75 cent bet) and one that started with $100 on a battle ship game and was up to $2200 about 30 minutes later (alternating 0.60 cent -> $3 bets)....two of those on the first night and all on penny machines. I usually do almost as well on a cruise ship as I do in Vegas and usually win (if at all) on the last night. (I don't do that well in Vegas, either, though)
