I know. I've been watching too and I can now go from a 1A to aqua for the same price when it was $400 more last week.

So what do you think is going on? I assumed it would be packed because of Thanksgiving but when I check, I see all of the open cabins too.

The prices on this cruise skyrocketed at some point and stayed high for no reason. Airfare was also nuts until this last week over $600,it just started falling. I feel the chances of a paid upgrade are high.

$6 was the difference to go to a guarnatee balcony from inside. The assigned cabin was then the s2. $6 that was it!

Do you happen to know the cabin number of the S2? The reason I ask is because some S 2 cabins are totally awful when they're under the galley for the buffet. I had 11 nights of hell because the noise from above kept me awake every night, despite numerous calls to Guest Services and wearing ear plugs. Vowed to NEVER book those S 2 cabins again.

It's not an upgrade if money has changed hands, it's an upsell that anyone can request.

Although you are technically correct, the word upsell is rarely used on this board but is used frequently on other boards. Generally on the Celebrity board the word upgrade is used.

She got assigned 2129. We're at 2114 and have previously sealed in 2120. We did not experience the noise here. We liked the location actually.

Good to hear! We are on the opposite side of the ship of 2120 on the Eclipse. I assume the deck plans are the same? So you heard no noise at all?

My last sailing on the Reflection, we were under the very front entrance into the OVC...under the bar area. We heard quite a bit of noise early in the morning, but I managed to sleep through, although it did disturb my sleep. We sleep with a sound machine...I can't do earplugs.

Then it's a $6 up sell from an inside cabin to a sky suite! We'd do that everyday!

From an inside cabin to a suite for $3 per person? No way Jose. Has to be some key information omitted.

Yes, have heard of inside to an OV or even a balcony but to a suite? Would have to see the confirmation or at minimum a detailed audit trail of all sequential events.

My friend went to a conceirge class guarantee from an inside for only $6 more. Five days later she was assigned a s2 sky suite! This was within 60 days of sailing.

What a great deal! Good for her!

I love these, "yes, but, can't be" remarks. jealousy?

We are always reading that you can upgrade as long as the new cabin is at least $1 more expensive. Well this upgrade was $6 dollars more. The upgrade to the suite was free.....good for them! Congratulations and I hope they have an amazing cruise living the "suite" life.

Could be. Talked to a friend who said he was in the lowest category of inside. Long story short for $5 per person they were upgraded to the owners suite. They had a Rolls Royce pick them up at the airport.

They not only had a butler they had a massage therapist on call 24/7 for in room massages.

One of the ship's chefs cooked them dinner every night in their suite. Of course there was a wine steward present to select and serve the wine.

When they went to the pool a pool butler was assigned to them. He reserved lounge chairs wherever they wanted them. Brought them towels and set up the lounges. A bartender was posted nearby for immediate service just for them.

For evening shows their butler asked where they wanted to sit. Those seats were reserved for the entire week. The butler escorted them to the theatre every evening and arranged for personal cocktail service.

At the end of the cruise they were escorted first off the ship where the Rolls was waiting to take them to the airport. Their luggage was already taken off the ship and checked in for their flight.

All this for $10 bucks. From now on instead of balconies we are booking insides ready with a five dollar bill for our upgrade.

True story.

I would b quite upset that they did not take us to our private Gulfstream5. Why should we have to set @ the back of a low-fare commercial airlines. Just saying!

..... and step two is go to the UK version of the celebrity site and do a mock booking to view exactly the number of cabins available in the category I am stalking. Unlike the US site the UK site lists every available cabin not just the first 10-15.

Happy Stalking!

Let say, I am on the fish and how do I get the UK version ?

Thanks

Mine too.....the cruise was sold out on suites in less than 6 mo....more than 1 1/2 years until the cruise and all were gone
I'd rather be lucky than good. But then all the suites are gone for my next cruise!
