Cruisin-Family Posted September 5, 2015 #1 Share Posted September 5, 2015 This is Sammy I am a 12+x cruiser at 12 years old, I am very disappointed with the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line because of their customer service. When I was enjoying myself in the arcade I won an IPad Mini. But it was TAPED TO THE SIDE OF THE CONTAINER so no one can win it. I took pictures---couldn't believe it!!! When I contacted the casino staff who supports the arcade, they did NOTHING. Then I contacted customer service/guest services, they did nothing, then I wrote a letter to corporate. They did nothing but sent me what I learned was a "form letter." All the cruise seemed like buy buy buy along with an "infomercial." Their new ship should be called the nickel and dime of the seas. Next time we cruise, I’m going to get my family to cruise with another company.
crazycatlady82 Posted September 5, 2015 #2 Share Posted September 5, 2015 Wait, you're 12? If you actually are 12, can you legally be on here? And if this isn't a joke..."next time we cruise, I'm going to get my family to cruise with another company"--you do realize how entitled you sound..? How about you be grateful that your family can cruise and just be happy with what your parents pay for...?

cruisingsince94 Posted September 5, 2015 #4 Share Posted September 5, 2015 It happens to us adults too at times. You might have a hard time convincing the rest of the family to change. They might enjoy those Diamond perks to much to pass them up.

BlueSkySailing Posted September 5, 2015 #6 Share Posted September 5, 2015 I believe what Cruise-Family is trying to say is that they should have won a iPad Mini but Royal had it set so NO ONE could win. I believe by Royal TAPING the iPad to the side. They knowingly were trying to rig the game to get more money. And for Royal to blow them off would upset me too! If this is true, Royal should be ashamed of themselves for not addressing the issue.

Cruisingthesuitelife Posted September 5, 2015 #9 Share Posted September 5, 2015 It seems as if it was taped to the side, it couldn't have been won in the first place... It also seems that, based on a post from May, the family no longer planned on being loyal RCI cruisers anyway. I hope you have better luck on future cruises. Rare rudeney Posted September 5, 2015 #10 Share Posted September 5, 2015 Sammy, for a 12 year old, your written communication skills are very good - better than some of the adults around here! :) I am guessing that you were playing one of those games where there is some level of skill required to "pick" a prize? Like those "claw" games? If so, it's probably the right time in your life to learn that there are many ways to "separate a fool and his money". These type games have long been a huge source of revenue for their owners, and huge expense for the people who play them thinking they will actually win the big prize. Yes, they do unscrupulous things like making the claw too weak to actually carry the "big prizes", and, as you saw, they even attach the "big prizes" so they cannot be collected. My advice is to learn your lesson here and stop playing these ridiculous games that are designed simply to take your money. In a few years, you'll be able to enjoy the casinos on the ships, and then we'll have a different discussion. :-)

If it was, in fact, a claw machine and the prize was taped to the side of the machine, yes, it was on display so to speak and no way anyone, including the OP could say they won it. Big claw machine fan here and I know how they all work - and many are rigged - but until that prize is in the chute, you have NOT won it, even if the claw securely grabs and lifts it. Having said that, OP appears to be a self entitled spoiled brat.

Cruisin-Family Posted September 5, 2015 Author #22 Share Posted September 5, 2015 Yes, that is exactly what he is trying to say. The front desk said the situation had been reported by several families, and they would check the cameras to see who actually 'won' it, but of course, never did. Cruisin-Family Posted September 5, 2015 Author #24 Share Posted September 5, 2015 Thank you for the nice compliment for our son. He was playing the game where you 'push' up/down to push a prize through. We have actually had the 'claw' rip off and not ever playing those! lol
