Thank you so much for all the updates and info!

You've made the big time: http://johnhealdsblog.com/2015/09/10/not-invited-to-the-party-what-a-liberty/

"I join you in thanking “Pauleydm” for explaining what was happening. I am sure he told you how quickly the crew acted, that nobody was injured and explained the full refund, 50 percent off the next cruise and $150 onboard credit he and all the guests received. I am sure he told you how wonderful the crew had been. Please thank him for me, let him know if he needs anything, I am here and I hope we see him again very soon. Best wishes. John"

Great news!! They should have a huge deck party tonight

Do you know approximately how many passengers are still onboard?

I usually never bother with that marine traffic site, but think I will check Liberty's progress as she makes her way home.

Nice summary of what has been posted in this thread.

Obviously you didn't read it. The article stated that power, ac was lost. At no time anywhere on this post or any Carnival announcement was that mentioned. Not to say that the newspaper article got their information correct, but I figured this board would like to see it.

I am glad that I have had the opportunity to share with the members of Cruise Critic and the cruising community. I truly appreciate all of the kind words I have read. I see that I have been mentioned on John Healds blog...I have no idea if he has seen what I posted. But I would like him to know that I have posted factual information as it has been presented to me, without any negativity or sensationalizing of the situation.

Charter flights are still happening today for guests that want to leave the ship and will continue until 5:30. The flights going out today are to Orlando, Miami, Atlanta, New York and Chicago.

Do you know hoe many passengers have or will leave the ship in st Thomas? Oops looks like someone else asked my question.

Have a safe trip back to SJ and home.

What a cruise just to St Thomas, I could handle that

CARNIVAL LIBERTY UPDATE

September 10, 2015 – 6.30pm EDT

The Carnival Liberty will be departing from St. Thomas this evening. The ship will proceed to its homeport of San Juan, Puerto Rico and is expected to arrive there tomorrow morning. The remaining guests on board will sail back to San Juan on the ship and have the option of staying on board through Sunday morning. Approximately 1,500 guests are presently still on the ship with the remainder having disembarked in St. Thomas to return home primarily via charter flights arranged by the cruise line.

All necessary authorities including the U.S. Coast Guard have provided permission for the vessel to sail. On Sunday, September 13, Carnival Liberty is scheduled to resume regular cruise service from San Juan.

JH posted on Facebook about 1500 are still on the ship

1 crew member per passenger. lol.

should be a quiet cruise back tomorrow. no lines at breakfast buffet in the morning, pool deck almost to yourself. pick out your deck lounger.

I still think they should have open bar on the way back tomorrow. you guys deserve it.

That is great news the the Liberty sails tonight. I was surprised that only 1500 remain on the ship. Should be a fun cruise back. Enjoy!!

1500 plus all the additional contractors, office "beards", extra cruise specialists etc they added... :D:D:

Thanks again Pauleydm for the update. And wish you a great remainder of the cruise, and time in San Juan ( I love the place), then a safe journey back home.

I wish Cruise Critic gave awards for members like you, who report back the information accurately without the drama. Some of us feel that at times like this we can only believe that one of our "own", who is right there in the middle, is the only trustworthy source of info. Safe travels:)

Good for them...I am sure the passengers appreciated the work they did and how well they handled a very difficult situation. Whenever a spanner is thrown in the works it takes people to make it manageable.

I was joking

It's more likely they just took the rooms that are allotted for the Barbados pax.
