FLL - Pre-Cruise Shopping (Wine) Options

We ended up booking a hotel (Springhill Suites) on the SW side of the FLL airport for our pre-cruise stay. I know there's a shopping center (Oakwood Plaza) just south of there with what looks like some good basic options to pick up last minute necessities.

 

We were wondering if there's a good place nearby to pick up some wine for the cruise as well? We will not have a rental car, but we could get a cab, etc. It looks like it'd be a bit far, but manageable, to go over to the Total Wine near 17th Street that usually is suggested.

 

I know there was some question about if you could get wine at the BJ's in that shopping center if you're not a member (can you)?

 

Any other nearby suggestions?

If you are taking a taxi to the port, you could stop at Total Wine, which is very near the port entrance. You could use their website to order and pay for the wine, and it will be waiting for you near the front of the store, so you should be in and out in less than 5 minutes.

What day are you sailing on? I believe the Ft Lauderdale area doesn't allow alcohol sales until noon on Sundays...

If you want a wide range of wine than go with Total Wine. Wonderful selection and terrific prices.

 

If you don't need a big choice just go to the nearest pharmacy and/or convenience type store.

 

Not sure about BJ's but you will get just as good prices at Total Wine and a much larger selection.

Since you are spending the night, why not go to the nearest publix store and buy your wine there, vast selection, and right by total wine.

 

You can also buy anything else you forgot here:D

Oakwood Plaza has a Kmart and BJs, both of which sell a limited selection of wine. No membership needed at BJs for the wine.

Good point, Total Wine does not open until noon on Sunday.
