I recognize rack of lamb (my favorite!) and surf & turf from previous gala and formal nights. Were the always available "Signatures" available on gala nights? Yes -- Day 2 and Day 6 were Gala nights -- I should have mentioned that. The always available "Signatures" were not listed on the menus and since we didn't eat in the dining room, I have no idea if you could still order them. cruz chic Posted November 7, 2015 #17 Share Posted November 7, 2015 (edited) Thanks for posting these. It looks like days 2 and 6 were "gala" menus? I recognize rack of lamb (my favorite!) and surf & turf from previous gala and formal nights. Were the always available "Signatures" available on gala nights? Yes and no. I didn't think strawberries in vinegar was appealing and I don't like soufflé so I asked if they had a crisp available and was told no. Generally they do have them nightly. I was able to get Caesar salad on gala night. Strangely enough I thought the lobster dinner the first week was excellent. The second week it was mediocre. That was the opinion of the folks I dined with that night as well. KK, thanks for all the work on this. Since I ate at the tamarind often it's nice to see what I missed. I know menus were posted daily. I just didn't bother to check. Edited November 7, 2015 by cruz chic
solocanadian Posted November 7, 2015 #18 Share Posted November 7, 2015 (edited) KK, thanks for posting. That was a lot of work but much appreciated. I find it strange that a lot of these dishes read better than they taste. Edited November 7, 2015 by solocanadian

Rare cruisingxpert Posted November 7, 2015 #22 Share Posted November 7, 2015 Interesting the Prime Rib was on the third night instead of the first. It's my favorite meal. My favorite also and I agree - I thought it was always on the first night. In fact someone on the delayed Nieuw Amsterdam into Barcelona jokingly commented that they had enjoyed the Prime Rib that had been intended for the new arrivals. cruz chic Posted November 7, 2015 #25 Share Posted November 7, 2015 DH is not a fussy eater, but he commented that he was glad that all our dinners were either in the Pinnacle or the Tamarind. The food for the most part was quite good actually in the MDR. The service varied from very good to glacially slow. I've had a lot of trouble with lack of wine service on many cruises but it was really good with the exception of one night. I think I ate at the tamarind 4 or 5 times and the Canaletto once out of 2 weeks so I was out of the MDR a fair bit.
