Our Spirit Cruise N0v. 28th> Dec. 5th. Any Questions? :)

We had quite an adventure on the Spirit, We had "Spirits" in our room, Great food, and a

New Captain we have officially nicknamed "Puking" Peter... :)

The crew was fantastic, I thought the food was excellent, and the shows awesome.

Made many new friends, Gio the cruise director was absolutely incredible.

Reggae Band was Concert Quality, Great Piano Player, and attentive DJ's.

The quest show had us in hysterics.

Last day at the Island was a big rainy blunder (it happens).

Much more to follow,

Sounds like you all had a blast! OK here are my questions-

1. Where was your cabin? If you had a balcony room was the bathroom that small?

2. How were the deck BBQ's?

3. Was there Indian food choices?

4. What was the best show?

5. Did you use the complimentary sauna/steamroom?

6. How was Henry's pub for fish and chips?

7. Where did you eat lunch on embarkation day?

8. How was the golf experience?

9. Did you have a UBP perk? If so how was it getting drinks?

10. What is one hint/tip you would give to us- we are headed on her in 6 days! :)

THANKS SO MUCH! Happy Holidays!!

We are on the same trip as you. Usually there is one MDR open as well as the buffet on the first day (Windows would be my guess for the MDR). Blue Lagoon may be open but it is a very small venue on the Spirit.

We saw that you were at GSC but it kind of looked like you didn't stay the whole day? Looked dark and rainy.

I was on the cruise right before this one. The first cruise out of Port Canaveral.

1. Had a balcony forward...lots of movement, bathroom adequate, not big nor too small.

2. The BBQ on board for sea days was horrible. I am not someone who complains of food but this was bad.

3. Yes there was Indian food choices....but not a fan so..... sorry can't help you.

4. The best show was the aerial show with the ex Philly Cheerleader.

5. No..

6. Every time I went in this place it was empty.

7. Buffet...it was standard fair.

8. The golf experience is nothing to get excited about. They have clubs set out for you to drive about 7 yard into a net. There was only 3 balls and 4 clubs laying around, one of which was broken.

9. Yes, I had the drink package, it worked well, basically order anything you want. You will pay taxes while in port in Florida and until the ship is 12 miles out to sea.

10. Check in kind of sucked...hope you are gold or higher so you can skip the long lines. The casino is brutal with payouts.... I absolutely saw no one hit a jackpot...a cruise first....save your money by avoiding.

Reviews of the Spirit continue to be very poor - could someone please post something positive. Maybe not[emoji19] - still looking forward to our cruise next Saturday[emoji4]

What was poor about this? Sounds like the OP had a great time.

We aren't really fond of folks that take over our post.

We have great things to say about the cruise and will follow up soon.

Just a sample: Shows> 5 stars. Attention Bored folks, if the dancers deserve a standing ovation, that is what they live for, the whole ship becomes more alive. Get up at the end of the show, you may be doing that after they exit anyway.... :( We got them up the 2nd show, and the dancers loved it, they work so hard to make folks happy.

Teppanyaki> 5 Stars, my daughters 19th Birthday. Fab. Great Chef.

Casino> 3 stars, ask for bartender Benji in the Disco lounge at the front of the Casino.

Tell him "Mr. Ed said to hook you up. He will, and a nice tip makes him smile. :)

We saw "Boss" Hog win $ 68,000 in the poker tourney, I saw a Lady hit $502, with her first pull.

Her hubby got $1,297 that nite later, also reports of 3,000 payout on slots.

Lots of Pro's were here from all over the world, so your Casino may be much slower....

Captain> New guy from Europe, he will get better I am sure. :)

Tell Peter we said hello, and its all in jest.

Raffles Buffet> Looked great to me.

Bier Garden over pool> Great hot dogs and Burgers all day.

Ask for Bartender Bong...

Good food in the Blue Lagoon all day, check out the arcade.

In Henry's Pub my special needs son somehow got an REO song that he did not know

and the entire bar, including Bartenders started singing along and it sounded like a concert.

Some say it takes a village, and that is the magic that happened for us.

Pirate pool at back of ship> Mellow out, it is a great place.

Shogun is not to be missed, you will have the best lobster for $24 that I ever had,

order additional apps (do not miss the pot stickers), and entrees at no charge,

free warm sake if you have the Booze plan. Ask for family style platters and you will have more food than you could ever eat.

Beautiful ship, great crew, will be back. The EPIC is coming soon!

DO NOT Miss the Shows! Rock n roll, the "World" and Elements, Makes Carnival

look like El Cheapo's, and we are Platinum.

Our friend the Cruise director is the best I have ever seen, tell Gio Ed says hello and thanks so much for giving 110% to us the entire cruise. We love ya Gio.

He suggested the Quest show and we about died laughing. :) Don't miss it.

Hope that is good stuff enough for now. More to say soon.

Remember to TIP TIP TIP, of course. Make them happy and you'll be too!

Have a great cruise and good Luck. Great classic ship.

Take care everyone.

Thank you for these tips!

My parents boarded Spirit yesterday and I have been in communication with them via iMessage. They said they think the ship is nice and have been having an enjoyable time so far and food is good.

I have passed on your tips to them just now :)

I usually enjoy the barbecue, but then again I usually only have the grilled chicken, but I agree with you on the Indian food- hate it! Anything with coriander, cumin or tumeric I can't stomach. Wish they would swap it for Mexican food. I love Mexican.

Just because you do not like Indian doesn't mean there aren't many other people who do like it. Additionally I'm sure they have some Mexican as well.

Thank you so much for taking the time to give your review of the Spirit. I have 4 months to wait and I really enjoy reading positive reviews. It helps pass the time waiting for my turn. I do prefer the smaller ships and am looking forward to being on the Spirit. My hope is to have a similar experience as we have had many times on the Sun. Smaller more intimate.

Thank you again.

Thanks so much!!

My cabin was 10510. The BBQ steak was thin and raw and the chicken was dry and overcooked. They had some vegetable kabobs which were just ok.

I did not have any issues with the ship itself other than I do not feel it handles well in moderate sea. I will say the crew were friendly and the senior officers were engaging and approachable. Which is nice because this is not usually the case.

If you are referring to me, I was simply responding and answering a list of questions on an open message board from a poster. I am sure the poster will appreciate another view from a seasoned cruiser.....after all, there is no such thing as "our" post in this forum.

Glad to finally hear positive things about the Spirit.

The Spirit has always gotten rave reviews from passengers. From the size of the ship, the décor to the staff.................Food is so subjective that I take food reviews with a grain of salt.

Really looking forward to a relaxing cruise come January. :D

Were there any theme nights? Trying to get an idea of specific things to pack for our cruise next week.

The only "theme" night on Norwegian is "Norwegian's Night Out" which is a dress up or not night. No need to pack extra stuff. There MAY be a glow party or a white hot night and then just a white shirt or neon t-shirt would be appropriate.
