WiFi (included minutes, then unlimited?)

We will be boarding the Riviera next week for our first O cruise (finally!).

We've got some free/included WiFi minutes, but will no doubt need more.

Will we be able to use first the "included" minutes, and once those are used up, then get the unlimited daily rate for just the remaining days?

Or must we get the "unlimited" for all of the days of the cruise?

Thank you.

And HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Yes - with a caveat.

You can sign up for unlimited internet up to a certain time (depending on the length of your cruise).

Please check with Internet services what is the last date you can sign up for the unlimited package and plan accordingly (use up your "free" minutes before that time).

Unless things have changed, you have another option as well ...

Use your "free" minutes until they expire, then buy a package that you think will carry you through to the end of your cruise.

There used to be more options ... you could just pay per minute (which then was around $.95/minute) which can work out if you won't be doing much on the internet once your free minutes expire.

But there were also other available plans which depending on how much time you were requesting would bring the per minute charge down. I think these days you have only one or two choices there ... I used to take a 200 minute plan which I think worked out to $.65, maybe $.75 per minute. That may no longer be available.

When you board, go to the internet guy for a consult. (S)He will know what your options are.

You can certainly buy the unlimited later in the cruise.

One of our roll call members bought ti about 1/2 way through our Nov. 18 cruise.

I don't recall seeing a final notice for purchase in the Currents. I would check on board to be safe as suggested but I don't think it will be an issue.
