Bases5 Posted December 26, 2015 #1 Share Posted December 26, 2015 Shuttle vs Taxi We are sailing out of NY on Carnival Sept 2016 We are flying in day of to LGA Delta direct flight. Carnival is offering a shuttle for $30 pp each way x 2 = $60 How would that compare to a taxi?
6rugrats Posted December 26, 2015 #2 Share Posted December 26, 2015 (edited) Did you try googling this question? I don't know from where you are cruising, but have never found cruise transfers cheaper or faster then taking a cab. Carnival is offering a shuttle for $30 pp each way x 2 = $60 How would that compare to a taxi? A taxi could be slightly cheaper but not by much. Figure about $40 to $45 plus tolls and tip, which would total close to $60.

6rugrats Posted December 26, 2015 #5 Share Posted December 26, 2015 The poster said they're cruising from NY and flying into LGA. Read that. There is more than one cruise terminal that could be considered "NY".

Thanks I did say Carnival, does carnival sail out of different terminal? Carnival docks in one place and one place only in NY...the Manhattan Cruise Terminal located on 12th Ave between 48th and 55th streets.

The difference would be that with a cruise shuttle, you likely have to wait for an entire bus to fill up before they leave the airport. A taxi will leave immediately. Mistyhon Posted January 11, 2016 #10 Share Posted January 11, 2016 Depends upon what time your flight is scheduled to arrive. If it's anytime after 9am I would take the carnival shuttle as then the ship is more likely to wait for you if your flight is delayed. FLying in the DAY OF embarkation makes me extremely anxious.
