Where to Snorkel in Coco Cay?

Thank you for your response but that thread talks about whether to do the excursion or not, renting equipment etc. There was one mention of going to the left of the island. I'm more interested in the areas on the island that are good for snorkeling. I'm sure there are more than one area.

Not really. It's a small private island and most of the rest of the water is quite shallow. I recall a tour guide who lived on another island nearby saying at low tide they could almost walk to work.

Actually, I'm not even sure if they would let you snorkel anywhere else.

The snorkeling area is on the east side of the island.

I'm assuming that is Snorkel beach?

I don't know the name, but if you look at the photo in the link posted above,

the place we snorkel is the beach at the most northeast part. Go out that beach, turn left and go through the opening in the rocks.

We go to the leftmost area (looking out from the beach), out towards where the ship is anchored. There is a reef out there.

I concur with Bob, but was thinking of a way of describing the area. Even if you are bringing your own equipment, if you stand at the rental shack and look to where the ship is, this will be the area Bob is referring to. I can't wait to go back there since I got my Gopro.

Looking back that area is labeled as Snorkel beach on Hoopster's map.

Is there any fee's or restrictions if you have your own gear?

I can't find if it was mentioned here or in the other thread earlier, but you are supposed to rent a vest. Although enforcement of that particular rule is usually up to RC's spotty consistency standards.
