We have recently returned from our first cruise. We choose the Regal Princess and sailed out on January 3. What a wonderful experience. I have to admit that a cruise on the "Love Boat" has been on my bucket list for years. I finally talked my husband into it and we both were hooked. So hooked infact that we paid our deposit for next cruise before we left the first. Well I am glad to say that we have booked our next cruise the other day. So look out Regal we will see you again next February to discover the western Caribbean. I can't wait!

We are first timers on the 21st also. I am reading these boards like crazy to get as much info as possible.

Good to hear positive comments. I am counting down the days, still a lot of them to go. Read comments on boards with "a grain of salt" and use your own discretion. Most are good ideas and tips, ignore the blatantly negative. Your cruise will be as good as you want it to be. Enjoy.

Would love to hear some details about what made your experience so memorable. We sail on the Regal on the 21st---first timers on Princess. Thanks.

I did a lot of reseach and devoured these boards but was still impressed with the Regal. We have stayed at some top resorts and was expecting a lot. The ship is beautiful! When you walk into the Piazza for the first time try not to let your mouth hang open to long lol just stunning! The staff was always happy and willing to serve. We ate at the Concerto dining room every night but one and loved it. We are not much for buffets. Once again the service was stellar. On the night I ordered lobster tail our server came over and asked me if she could take my tail out of the shell for me. Um OK! That is service.

We had an issue in the casino one day where I didn't load my winnings onto my card right when I took it out of the machine. I didn't discover it until much later in the day. After talking with the management they said they would check it out and for me to come back the next day.when I returned apparently the person that put there card in after mine refused to give the money back. Imagine that! But the management gave me my money back anyway.

Every time I heard the ship horn blow the theme to the Love boat I got goose bumps! Im wierd that way I guess! It was nice to go to bed at on island and wake up at another. That was too cool!

As far as we were concerned it rates up there with some of our favorite vacations. As I said we have already booked our next cruise for next year.

Alfredos, the expanded IC, the huge MUTS screen, the never-ending choices in the HC, the beautiful Piazza.....the ambience of Crooners.....we have been in the Regal twice - can't wait to sail her or her sister ships again. Are they perfect? Nope.....but while we still enjoy the grand class ships - the Regal made an impression that's hard to beat! Happy sails!

We too are traveling on her on the 21st. Not a first timer on Princess but a first time on a Royal Class.

OP - thanks for the review - would love to hear more but am always happy to read a positive review!

You must be on the B2B are you? We are 14 days Feb.28th, first time on Royal also. So looking forward to this cruise. Man it is a BIG ship!!!

Am looking at pre-ordering the bucket of beer. Our cruise was in Canadian dollars (we are Canadian) and apparently because it is in Canadian dollars if we gift ourselves items they will be in Canadian dollars, will be calling Princess tomorrow and asking.

I wish we were on a B2B - but alas only a 7 day. We disembark on the 28th.

In the milder months we live just 11/2 hours south of the Canadian border - just under Montreal. We haven't vacationed a lot yet in your beautiful country, but we intend to drive North over the border this summer to take advantage of the good exchange rate for us!

If you can order the bucket in Canadian $$ - go for it!!:D

Have sailed the Regal Jan 2016 (7 day) and the royal November 2015 (10 days)

Had Marina deck forward facing balcony both times. Loved the rooms.

Spent many hours in Vines and in Atrium.

Some differences Royal ... Vines was excellent and entertainment in atrium was available every night with mostly dancing and other acts ...tapas and sushi disappointed ..........staff was wonderful....dining in MDR was awesome......rarely used buffet

On Regal in Jan whole different type of entertainment in atrium......several nights Jazz that was most enjoyable...........not a lot of dancing available.........the Vines bar was amazing with tapas hot plate different every night..........excellent staff and most enjoyable MDR experience..........

Now torn between minor differences in both ships...........will be doing TA on Royal soon and will be able to judge better..........

which ship will pull at our hearts??
