This winter has been all about museums for me with the kids. Sent from my SM-N910C using Tapatalk
tbill Posted February 10, 2016 #278 Share Posted February 10, 2016 What horror??!! They were in 25-30ft seas. I would hardly call that "horror." Uncomfortable, maybe. But horror? Good Lord. You really need to stop with this sensationalism. You are delusional. Watch the videos and look at the photos.
Magyfagen Posted February 10, 2016 #279 Share Posted February 10, 2016 I don't want to add insult to injury, but if the claims administrator takes a strict interpretation stance on your claim (many do), your hotel, food and other incidental expenses most likely will NOT be covered under the RCL policy. If you read the definition of end date, your cruise ends when you reach port. Your trip is NOT delayed it is over. Even if they don't take a strict view of your situation your delay benefit is only $500 per policy holder. I worked in the travel insurance industry for many years. I liken it to a casino, odds are always with the house or in this case the insurance company.

To take a quote from a previous discussion, noone had to poop in a bucket. Does it suck? Yeah, big time. A plan not going according to plan always sucks. Is it life changing? Maybe for some. Aquahound Posted February 10, 2016 #281 Share Posted February 10, 2016 You are delusional. Watch the videos and look at the photos. I did and I saw 25-30ft seas. You need to put away your copy of The Perfect Storm and focus on what factually happened in this case. Better yet, stay faaar away from cruising if you think 25-30ft seas is "horror." CruiseHealing Posted February 10, 2016 #282 Share Posted February 10, 2016 I wonder how long the line was? Not the line of passengers getting off the ship. But the lawyers (or as I really call them: "whore-yers") that are ready to make a fast buck
Big_G Posted February 10, 2016 #283 Share Posted February 10, 2016 You are delusional. Watch the videos and look at the photos. LOL! You really shouldn't step one foot on that ship. They'll need to sedate you the entire trip. Stay home. Let hubby take someone who wants to go. :D
Bosjoe Posted February 10, 2016 #284 Share Posted February 10, 2016 (edited) No, actually its not enough. They should have never been put through the horror. Nothing is really "enough". The 50% is BS anyway cause I don't think many of them are going to be booking another cruise anytime soon. It might not be enough for you, but you seem your the type that nothing is good enough. By rights they do not have to offer anything, if you ever read the cruise contract you be amazed. A good amount of people will be happy with what RCCL has done in this situation, and of course there are people that there is no pleasing, these are the first people in line saying what are you going to give me. Go back watching the news and listening to them sensationalize this situation. Edited February 10, 2016 by Bosjoe
Hawaii697 Posted February 10, 2016 #285 Share Posted February 10, 2016 yup, we won't charge you for almost killing you the first time so we will only charge half to try again . That was dramatic :) So I'm assuming you won't accept/use the 50% off another RCCL cruise? It's unfortunate at this time, so much is out of your control. Hang in there and try to make the best of a bad situation.

The 50% is BS anyway cause I don't think many of them are going to be booking another cruise anytime soon. If someone had died or was seriously injured I would be with you on nothing really ever being enough. This is how I felt when I first starting hearing about the compensation concordia survivors were being offered (I remember seeing a dollar amount offer and thinking that if my whole family was there and got out ok, that the value would be ok for the interruption, terror etc but if someone had been seriously injured or was dead there was no way that value would be acceptable). I think in the end we do have to remember that although this was an awful experience in the end everyone came out of it ok. Scared and maybe out of vacation time but no permanent damage. Things could have been much worse.

Better yet, stay faaar away from cruising if you think 25-30ft seas is "horror." Did you also see the furniture flying around the balcony, the video of water coming into the cabin from the balcony of a cabin on the 10th deck, all of the damage done to the ship including a radar ball being forced to crash down on deck, all of the glass panels that crashed down on the deck, broken glass all over peoples cabins?? Sorry, this was more than a little inconvenience. So take your sarcasm and stick it where the sun don't shine and stop saying it was nothing. This was a horror, why don't you talk to Shaun who is actually on the cruise, and many of the passengers that they are interviewing on the news. Horror is just one of the words they are using to describe it and all of them stated that they truly feared for their lives.

I have been reading your negativity and nastiness since Sunday and have had enough to not remain silent. YOU are not on that ship! Obviously you just like drama! TifffanyD Posted February 10, 2016 #295 Share Posted February 10, 2016 I wish they would at least remove the ones that say "sailed" and create their list into a smaller one. It would save me a lot of mouse rolling or Ipad finger pushing. Edit: I totally get your joke too. Actual space-wise, it's only 4 lines longer than yours... pescatch Posted February 10, 2016 #299 Share Posted February 10, 2016 So I'm assuming you won't accept/use the 50% off another RCCL cruise? It's unfortunate at this time, so much is out of your control. Hang in there and try to make the best of a bad situation. So I could be wrong but aren't they receiving a 50% Future Cruise Credit? I thought I remember seeing that is what they were getting in addition to the refund for this sailing. A 50% FCC is different than 50% off a future cruise. Basically they will get a voucher (think gift certificate) that is valued at 50% of what they paid for this sailing. That FCC will most likely expire in 1 year. Depending on how much they spent and what they use it on, they could end up with a close to a free cruise from that voucher.
