ready2cruzagain Posted February 16, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2016 We were recently on the Glory during our anniversary and for our anniversary we received a $50 Gift Card to the Spa, and we received a $25 Gift Card towards a bottle of wine. Used the Spa Card for a manicure...paid a tip was all and used the $25 card for a $25 bottle of wine (there was no gratuity added). The staff said it is something new they are doing. I thought it was Awesome!!

I thought it was Awesome!! That's awesome! I saw a picture of the card on another person's post and it said "happy birthday month." Given that, I wonder if DH will get one. His birthday is only 7 days before we sail, but in a different month ...

Sooner-Cruisers Posted February 16, 2016 #5 Share Posted February 16, 2016 We just cruised on the Magic for my husband's 40th, they left a card and some delicious chocolates in our room. Guest Services also called to wish him a happy birthday. When you do online check in there is a spot to check for celebrating a special occasion. Hobbsey Posted February 16, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 16, 2016 Hi Does the event date need to take place while you are on board? We are looking at a cruise that is 10 days after my Mom's b'day and our anniversary, and ends 2 weeks before my Dad's b'day. Thanks
PittsburghGirlee Posted February 16, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 16, 2016 Cruised on my actual Bday 5 times recently and even put that it was my BDay in the online check in form. Sadly, never received a single thing as of last March. Happy for those that do receive[emoji106]

summersigh Posted February 16, 2016 #12 Share Posted February 16, 2016 How did they know it was your anniversary? We are cruising during ours later this year. Wonder how they would know. We wonder as well. I just filled out our online check-in yesterday and no where in the pages did it ask for special occasions. DH has a birthday in the month we sail so I would have noticed it if there was a question.:confused:

ready2cruzagain Posted February 16, 2016 Author #16 Share Posted February 16, 2016 I always call and make my bookings with Carnival and they always ask if we are celebrating any special occasions. It was a pleasant surprise.

jayman31 Posted February 17, 2016 #18 Share Posted February 17, 2016 I also received the $50 Spa gift card but there was no indication that it was because of a birthday or anniversary...I figured it was just a way to get you to try out the spa so they can try and sell you more stuff...I didn't use it as I am not a spa person. I also wasn't celebrating anything on the cruise...so I doubt they specifically give them for those reasons.
TDCRose Posted February 17, 2016 #19 Share Posted February 17, 2016 We cruised 5 days after my Husband's birthday in January and he received a 25.00 gift card for wine and a free 4 x 6 photo.
Keys2Heaven Posted February 17, 2016 #20 Share Posted February 17, 2016 We booked through a TA and we don't have a modify button under the "My Guests" tab. However, we did tell our TA that we were celebrating our anniversary and it is indicated as such for "Special Occasion" under that same tab. However, we celebrated our anniversary on-board last year and didn't receive a thing. So, if new, it would be a nice thing to receive.

Micahs Grandad Posted February 17, 2016 #22 Share Posted February 17, 2016 On the valor last week we had to pay to buy our tablemate a birthday cake. They did give the men in our group a $ 50 gift certificate to the spa which was not transferrable to DW so it went into the trash.
ATL_Miami_Cruiser Posted February 17, 2016 #23 Share Posted February 17, 2016 My friend and his wife traveled with me on the Sunshine a few weeks ago and for their anniversary Carnival gave them a free dinner at Ji Ji's or Cucina-del-capitano. I'm glad that Carnival is recognizing special occasions.
Domergirl Posted February 17, 2016 #24 Share Posted February 17, 2016 Thanks! Worth a try! We're cruising in April, which is my b-day month...so I just marked it, and now I'll cross my fingers!!!
DallasGuy75219 Posted February 17, 2016 #25 Share Posted February 17, 2016 Guess everyone will celebrate an anniversary every cruise. IMO seems silly. That's what used to happen when they would bring a whole birthday or anniversary cake at no charge (and sing to you) at dinner in the dining room. Some tables had a birthday or anniversary every night. When they started charging for a whole cake in the dining room, it was amazing how many fewer birthdays and anniversaries there were.
