Still, we can drink the best wine that they sell by the glass!!!! Yaaaay!!! I was completely on the fence...but not anymore! Especially since the Magic is getting the Alchemy bar. I looove some of the martinis....like the Pineapple Chipolte one! I cannot wait to try whatever my heart desires. This is SUCH a win.

I have never purchased Cheers before. I knew that I would never be able to put away that much, and my regular bar tab per day would be about 5 or 6 drinks, so either a break even or close.

Now that I can have a some fancy coffee's and some better glasses of wine, it is much more appealing. Think I will book it for my next cruise.:)

I can't imagine what drinks that cost $50 ??? or am I missing something:confused:

For example, on The MSC Divina, in the Ultra Lux Cigar Bar, where the Ultimate Premium drink package covers these 1 and 1/2 ounce delights, along with Cuban Cigars, we have consumed the following:

Johnny Walker Blue $49, Pappy Van Winkle 20 Year $49, Glen Morangie 25 Year $48, MacAllan Rare Oak Cask $50, James Buchannan 25 Year $49, all available in unlimited quantities, as long as we had the Ultimate Beverage Package, and all were Smooth and fabulous.

Now what about on the new Vista in the Ultra Lux Havana Bar? I would imagine a similar menu, but even MORE fabulous, as Carnival's Got The Fun! So yes, $50 Rare Scotch and Bourbons are the norm on other cruise lines and I greatly hope that Carnival is preparing to offer these fantastic treats as well.

Now to be fair, Carnival restricts consumption to 15 drinks per day where MSC is fully unlimited. But still, I can not see me exceeding the Carnival daily limit anyway.

Count us IN and the NEW package is phenomenal!

Soooo with the gratuities added, how much does it come up to per day? I never understood why they just don't post the price inclusive of the gratuities instead of making us have to do all the calculating...or am I also missing something?

The program costs 50/day. You can drink 15 drinks a day (alcoholic) during that day period.

In reality, we opt for Cheers, because we DO drink, not 15 a day, but more than 6 cocktails, ($60 plus gratuity) per person, per day. So for us, it is totally worth it.

It would not be worth it if I drank a beer and a glass of wine at dinner each day, and I know many folks who will not make the Min/Max. No worries.

Again, for us, it is a cost savings and an opportunity to enjoy amazing liquors that we would not be able to normally experience on land on a daily basis, and this would make our vacation even more amazing! No limits on what we can consume and no worries about getting a bill.

I like that.

I agree, it is much more attractive now.

Maybe, but you have posted here before saying you are caustic or coarse (forget which you used) so you have admitted you come here to stir and then post on JH's FB page what you read here. Give it a rest and improve your attitude, it's so much less stressful on you and us.

Wow do you have Jimbo pegged wrong. Definitely need to do a little research before posting.

Totally pegged wrong. He's not like that at all. Hey Jimbo my homie!

I agree' date=' it is much more attractive now.[/quote']

It is! I still wish they had a smaller package BUT this is an improvement by adding other things.

yes, this is extremely crappy. I have been saving up gift cards as well to pay for Cheers but I can't use them ahead of time and I am going on an 8 day cruise which means my husband and I would pay $80 more just to use them. I have no other use for them and it is my Cheers money so I don't want to just save them for some other cruise some other year. ARGH

We are in the same situation. We received gift cards for Christmas for the Cheers program and now it'll cost us more for the program. Not sure why they changed that part of the program! Really stinks. And if you apply all your gift cards to your sign & sail card and don't use all the funds they're non refundable !! Another bummer!

P

Guests may purchase a round of drinks for themselves and friends. One drink will count towards the CHEERS! program and the remaining drinks will be charged to the guest's Sail and Sign account.

*from the link above

Sounds like we (wife and I) are like others that may be now considering the CHEERS! package for our upcoming cruise with these new changes, that have not considered it previously.

So this round of drink comment, we wondered...wife and I purchase CHEERS! as required...one of us heads up to a bar to grab a couple of drinks for just the 2 of us, would either of us need to bring both our S&S cards, or are they so strict that we'd both have to hit the bar and order individually?

Sounds sort of silly...but....

Okay I am a bit confused.

First: If you have Carnival Gift Cards or Visa/Mastercard/Amex Gift cards, you can purchase Cheers through Bon Voyage prior to your sailing on the Carnival Website.

Second. If you apply your Gift Cards to your S&S account while on board, any unused portion is giving back to you in the form of a New Carnival Gift card on the last night of the cruise.

I have personal experience on both just two months ago. Please help me understand the dilemma you are presenting.......

Not at all true about the gift card balance being non refundable. You can cash out at the casino, the kiosk, take cash out of the machine. All of these methods have been used to retrieve unused gift card funds. Worse case, if you do nothing they will send you a new gift card with your unused funds. You don't lose anything using gift cards.

We sailed on the Legend together in February 2013.

LOL, we sure did, and we sure waited for the fog to lift to get back in. Other than that, it was a spectacular cruise, We do need to sail together again......

Pay for excursions (in advance now and very easy to do as well) and lots of other things as well.
