rowlady Posted February 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted February 25, 2016 First time cruising on Princess and we currently have anytime dining but after reading these threads I am thinking I might like to move to the late seating at a table for 6 or 8 (there are 2 of us) for a chance to make friends.... but I am wondering if this dining time would be a bad choice for seeing the nightly shows? I don't want to miss them just because I am sitting in the dining room. The 6pm dining is waitlisted and we prefer eating later anyway. Any opinions or guidance? Thanks

Thanks We usually do late traditional dining. We go to the early show and then go to dinner. Sometimes they move late dining to 7:45 which does make it a little tight. Colo Cruiser Posted February 25, 2016 #3 Share Posted February 25, 2016 If we want to see a show we let the wait staff know and you can eat as fast as you want.
Roatanfans Posted February 25, 2016 #4 Share Posted February 25, 2016 With anytime dining just let them know you are happy to share a table and you will usually be seated right away- You get to meet lots of other people that way and eat when you want to so you don't miss anything! caribill Posted February 29, 2016 #6 Share Posted February 29, 2016 There will be at least two shows every evening (except maybe for the welcome aboard show) timed so that both early traditional and late traditional diners can attend one of them. Sometimes the show for the late sitting is before dinner and sometimes it is after.
GUT2407 Posted February 29, 2016 #7 Share Posted February 29, 2016 Yep two shows, one early, one late.
Rare geoherb Posted February 29, 2016 #8 Share Posted February 29, 2016 What we miss out on by taking late traditional dining is the evening games--trivias, newlywed game, etc. Occasionally I'll make it to one of these events by rushing through dinner. SheriffJoe Posted February 29, 2016 #9 Share Posted February 29, 2016 The shows are timed for traditional dining times so that's no issue. Usually early diners see the show after dinner, late diners see it prior to dinner.
soprano Posted February 29, 2016 #10 Share Posted February 29, 2016 We've always preferred the late traditional dining, since most of the families with kids eat early. The late dinner is usually much more relaxing and calm. An added bonus is that the wait staff is not hurrying you along to finish so they can set up for the next seating.
