KimKTN Posted March 1, 2016 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2016 We are flying in the night before our June cruise and staying at the hotel in the Orlando airport. I see the airport is about 45 minutes for the port. (Correct?) What time should we arrive at the port to get in the boarding line so we can get on the ship as soon as we can. From what I read, we can start boarding at 11. We would like to get on the ship as early as possible to start enjoying the day, so, I assumed getting in line early at the port would be a start. Thank you in advance for your advice.

Langley Cruisers Posted March 1, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 1, 2016 Great! I was worried a line might start building earlier. Oh, it will. We've seen embarking passengers line up as early as 9 am at various piers. They think they are being so smart, but really they just have to stand in the hot sun until the building opens for check-in. :p .
cb at sea Posted March 1, 2016 #5 Share Posted March 1, 2016 There's no need to get there too much before they start boarding....
cruisingsince94 Posted March 1, 2016 #6 Share Posted March 1, 2016 We have always arrived between 10:30 and 11:00 and each time all has gone smoothly.
KimKTN Posted March 1, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted March 1, 2016 Good news. We can sleep a little later before we get picked up.
gerif Posted March 2, 2016 #8 Share Posted March 2, 2016 Remember that no matter how early you board you will not be able to access your cabin until 1:00 or later so whatever you carry on you will have with you until then.
twisterfreak2280 Posted March 2, 2016 #9 Share Posted March 2, 2016 If I stay at an Orlando hotel the night before the cruise, can I still get a ground transfer to the pier or do I have to cab it?
Clarea Posted March 2, 2016 #10 Share Posted March 2, 2016 If I stay at an Orlando hotel the night before the cruise, can I still get a ground transfer to the pier or do I have to cab it? If you are asking if a hotel in Orlando has a free shuttle to the cruise port, I think it's highly unlikely. The cruise port is 45 minutes from the airport, farther still from central Orlando. I would arrange a shuttle from someone like Cortrans, for $20 per person.
Rare Keith1010 Posted March 2, 2016 #11 Share Posted March 2, 2016 I would aim to arrive at 10:30 AM. Keith

We used SAS Transport...they picked us up at our Orlando hotel and took us to the port. Charge was about $20-$25 pp. Very good efficient service...no problems. Checkout their website. I think it is sastransport.com .

We booked our transfer with Orlando Chauffeured Services. They had different options for vehicles that fit all party sizes.
