I like to check prices fairly regularly for any cruise that I have booked. I recently found for our 2017 Celebrity cruise that they were offering an additional $100 obc and was able to get my travel agent to get my booking adjusted.

Yesterday I went to the MSC website and they are now offering $400 obc for Seaside bookings. We booked a a YC interior cabin with a booking bonus of $300 obc. I called MSC, and waited on hold for a while lol. But eventually I was able to speak to one of the PVP's. He wasn't able to adjust my cooking but rebooked me and did a transfer of my deposit. It took a total of about 10 minutes. Well worth it for the extra obc.

I'm also booked on the Seaside, inside YC, and called about the extra $100.00 OBC. Was also rebooked, and the $400.00 added. What a deal!!!!!
I'm in a similar situation. What number did you call? I'll try tomorrow.

Hey Bob,

I called the number on the MSC homepage. I was on hold for a while waiting for an agent. So call when you have time. Here is the number

Like other posters, we're booked in a YC interior. I'm calling after dinner to see about the extra OBC as well as loyalty match from Royal Caribbean.

Will report back my success or failure afterwards. :)

This is possibly an enticing offer. Is the Yacht Club appropriate for kids (they will be 5 and 8 at the time of our cruise)? Would they be able to use the One Pool deck and hot tubs? Will other passengers be upset with our kids being in the Yacht Club restaurant? Are the kids language learning and cooking classes available to kids travelling in Yacht Club?

Called after dinner last night, but they were closed. :(

Called just now, waited 15 minutes, and spoke to an awesome rep named Alberto who got it done in less than three minutes.

Thanks for the tip! What CAN'T it be used for? Since we're in a Yacht Club interior, maybe the OBC can be used for restaurants, pictures, casino, and the occasional drink from outside the private lounge/bar?

I don't know your TA, but some of us that booked with MSC had no problem rebooking with them. It only took minutes. I can't say for sure if your date qualifies. I'm not sailing till 2018, so I can't see why a 2017 sailing wouldn't be included.

I called my TA and asked her to call MSC and have my booking adjusted. She was told that my sailing date of 12/30/17 did not qualify for the $400 OBC even though it was on their website.

The Christmas and New Years sailings, which are the inaugural sailings for the ship in the eastern and western caribbean, are exempt from the OBC offerings. It is on all sailings currently available to book from January through May of 2018.

I booked during the special where you got the drink package. Would trying to get the obc eliminate that if I had to rebook?
Yes, the free drink package was in effect if you had booked back in December through the end of January when that promotion had ended. Now, it's 100 for inside, 150 for OV, 200 for Balcony, 300 for a suite and 400 for YC. If you're currently in an inside or an OV, the drinks package would be a better deal, IMHO. Only you can decide if it would be better if you're in a balcony or a suite. Being in the YC, the 400 OBC is much better since all drinks are included in the Yacht Club area, including the pool bar, the lounge and the restaurant. So you'll have to decide if the free drinks or the OBC according to where your cabin is located is a better deal.

When you click on the MSC Seaside sale site, the dates clearly state from Jan 6 2018 through May 26 2018. So, besides paying a much higher rate to sail over Christmas and New Years to be on one of the inaugurals, you also miss out on a great amount of OBC as well. https://www.msccruisesusa.com/en-us/Cruise-Deals/Top-Deals/MSC-Seaside-Sale.aspx

I just called MSC and found out that I already had $300 OBC for my Yacht Club cabin and they bumped it up to $400 in a few minutes. It might have helped that I have sailed with them before and gave my Voyager's number when I called. Sometimes they have different representatives for previous customers. Anyway it was much easier than I expected. Bob

We're in the same boat (pardon the pun). I have an S2 booked which is currently $110 more than my booked price. With $300 SBC we'd be $190 to the good, but it isn't worth giving up the More-for-Less. We don't drink a ton, but between the 4 of us we'll get that much value with the occasional alcoholic drink plus soda, coffee and gelato.

If your math is different, or you give it a shot and find something different, please post.

Another option would be to give up your balcony and switch to an inside Yacht Club and gain the YC experience, open bar in lounge, restaurant and pool area and gain 400 in OBC.

Interesting idea, though there is no availability, apparently because there are no quad insides in YC on Seaside. Nothing showing as having additional berths on the deck map anyway.

Pricing for 2, it is only $250 more netting to $150 difference given the additional OBC. This on the April 7th 2018 sailing.

Of course, if you go from a Facntastica inside to YC inside, it's $1200 difference, or $900 after the additional OBC.
