StolidCruiser Posted March 31, 2016 #4 Share Posted March 31, 2016 It's nice to know what a $1 increase in the price of a case of bottled water can do for a company's bottom line. :D Can't wait to see how the so-called pundits spin this report into evidence of some diabolical plan to rip-off customers come to fruition. I've got my list ready - let's see who bites.

DirtyDawg Posted March 31, 2016 #12 Share Posted March 31, 2016 (edited) Good for shareholders and management who have stock options and bonuses.:) But as a potential customer, not so good.:( I always like my service/goods providers to be struggling just a bit. That way I can get better deals!;) Edited March 31, 2016 by DirtyDawg

Thorncroft Posted March 31, 2016 #14 Share Posted March 31, 2016 They've increased capacity in China by 60%. That accounts for some of it. The other is lower fuel costs and higher fares. If they hadn't made more money, they would be remiss.

Is that the best you have? You wouldn't know a successful business if it slapped you in the face. But it's ok. You'll get a better grip of this when you complete grade school. Karnyval Posted March 31, 2016 #18 Share Posted March 31, 2016 Of course, Carnival didn't add a fuel surcharge when they could have, but nobody complained about that.

stevefrisco Posted March 31, 2016 #20 Share Posted March 31, 2016 Looks like management has increased shareholder return on investment! That's great for shareholders, way to go! Unfortunately that means guest experience must have suffered as a trade off either through increased prices were the result of inflation. I'm no economist so I won't speculate on what caused the increase prices.

Karnyval Posted March 31, 2016 #22 Share Posted March 31, 2016 With bookings up, I think most economists would say supply and demand.
AguaMala Posted March 31, 2016 #23 Share Posted March 31, 2016 I got to say this is the oddest thing I'm ever reading. More money out of the customers pocket, and more money into a company's coffers.... And the customers are applauding.
