RoopKiRani Posted April 19, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2016 Hello Everyone, We have a 7 day cruise booked from April 30th till May 7th. I have been going through the excursions on the Royal Carribean website..however I am disappointed to see that ALMOST majority of them don't have anything for kids who are under 4. My toddler just turned 3 and I wanted to know are they super strict on the age requirements. I also wanted to know if you could all PLEASE suggest some things to do on these ports. Day 2 Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas Day 3 St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands Day 4 St. John's, Antigua Day 5 Castries, St. Lucia Day 6 St. George's, Grenada Thank you so much!!! :)
Clarea Posted April 19, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 19, 2016 An excellent source of info is the Ports of Call forums here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=
Sauer-kraut Posted April 19, 2016 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2016 In addition to the above link, check out the Family Cruisers board under Specialty Cruising on the main page. With a toddler the best thing would be to be VERY flexible, nap time is a must and go into these excursions knowing that you might have to cut things short and go back to the ship. leaveitallbehind Posted April 19, 2016 #4 Share Posted April 19, 2016 (edited) Regarding the lack of excursions that would include children of that age, as explained to me the guidelines with age limits (young and old) are driven primarily by insurance regulations handled by the excursion provider and are not set by RCI. kitty9 Posted April 20, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 20, 2016 And yes, they are very strict with ages. It all has to do with liability concerns. Most people do beach tours with toddlers.
Hypbmxgurl Posted April 26, 2016 #6 Share Posted April 26, 2016 Look up excursions outside of royals website! We have a 1 1/2year old going and have found excursions easily that includes his age outside of royals site.
spookwife Posted April 26, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 26, 2016 of course they are strict on ages( and weights) all toddlers want to do 98% of the time is to play on the beach anyway. at that age you don't want rigid excursions. you want open ended/flexible things that can be cut short in a heartbeat when Junior gets cranky.
