SailorJack Posted May 24, 2016 Author #226 Share Posted May 24, 2016 Sailor Jack, That was an amazingly well written, funny review. I really enjoyed it and being a current resident of Arizona with relatives in Alabama and... being a die hard Boston Bruins fan(sorry about 2011!) you checked all the boxes. Thanks for the laughs!! Jim Glad you enjoyed it. As there is a strong rivalry between Georgia and Alabama I occasionally take a good-natured shot at Alabama, but a BRUIN fan. Jack

SailorJack Posted May 25, 2016 Author #230 Share Posted May 25, 2016 another epic Sailorjack review - all you first timers need to read the rest of his reviews - especially the Dream/Nightmare one. thanks Jack! Thanks. I am reminded of the old Groucho Marx comment, "If I had known I was going o live this long I would have taken better care of myself." If I had known that the Dream review would have been around this long I would have taken more care in writing it!:) Jack

SailorJack Posted May 27, 2016 Author #233 Share Posted May 27, 2016 Ashore at last. Here are a few pictures of the residential areas of Cabo. Notice how new everything appears to be - a sign of the rapid recent growth of Cabo.
SailorJack Posted May 27, 2016 Author #234 Share Posted May 27, 2016 Thank's for a great review. We loved the Miracle, but then we enjoyed all of our cruises. Glad you enjoyed it. Like you, we have never had a bad cruise. Perhaps some more memorable than others, but all good. Jack

SailorJack Posted May 29, 2016 Author #237 Share Posted May 29, 2016 The marina in Cabo was packed with charter boats. The waters off Cabo are loaded with game fish and people come from all over the world to fish here. We once spent an enjoyable day fishing for marlin but got skunked - not even a close one. But it was an enjoyable day. Of course, people bring their own boats to Cabo and we saw boats from up and down the west coast - like the big sea going yacht in the background. JenRobBowlin Posted May 29, 2016 #238 Share Posted May 29, 2016 Loved your review! It's a rainy Memorial Day weekend here in Oak Island, NC. This is just what I needed to lift my spirits. Bravo SailorJack!
Dubdude007 Posted May 29, 2016 #239 Share Posted May 29, 2016 Although I really enjoyed your review, my need to file frivolous lawsuits compels me to take you up on your offer to sue you. My private investigator firms are busy investigating all of your off shore accounts so that we may demand an appropriate amount of compensatory damages. The basis of this suit is simple, I could not find the "Don't Shoot--We are not drug people" T-Shirts anywhere :)

SailorJack Posted May 31, 2016 Author #242 Share Posted May 31, 2016 Cabo is a sport fishing capital of North America and Marlin is king here. Shops and stores surrounded the marina. And it is definitely aimed at tourists. You would be hard pressed to find a sign in Spanish.

SailorJack Posted June 1, 2016 Author #244 Share Posted June 1, 2016 Tourists weren't the only visitors to the marina.:) This little fellow apparently lives in the marina according to someone sharing our table at a seaside pub. Speaking of whales, we saw a lot of them as we entered the harbor. Cabo is a great whale watching location. Several years ago we had a hotel room facing the beach and would sit out on our balcony and watch the whales go by on their way up North.
SailorJack Posted June 2, 2016 Author #245 Share Posted June 2, 2016 Anybody want to buy a Sombrero. You can buy just about anything in this store! Or come to Cabo to eat at Ruth Chris:rolleyes: Or perhaps visit the casino?
SailorJack Posted June 3, 2016 Author #246 Share Posted June 3, 2016 We have arrived in Mazatlan! The sun was just starting to come out and the morning haze had not yet burned off. It was really a magical moment for us as we awaited docking at the pier.

SailorJack Posted June 4, 2016 Author #248 Share Posted June 4, 2016 The sun is up and shining and it looks like it is going to be a glorious day in Mazatlan. I took these photos of the harbor area as we ate breakfast on the back deck next to Serenity. In the foreground is the pier to which we tied up. SailorJack Posted June 6, 2016 Author #249 Share Posted June 6, 2016 As we were forewarned, security was tight. Their were armed guards not only at the port. but around town as well. On the other hand, we were greeted by some very attractive greeters wearing festive Mexican attire.
SailorJack Posted June 7, 2016 Author #250 Share Posted June 7, 2016 I guess because of all the security arrangements, it took while before we could leave the ship. Here security is getting set up for deboarding. The next thing we saw were these shuttle busses lining up. Apparently we could not walk to the terminal as the sign quite clearly indicated that they were COMPULSORY!:) (I also liked the flames!) The first lucky passengers are off to Mazatlan. If you notice the gentleman standing up in the front - he is a tour guide. That's right - we had a tour guide from the ship to the terminal - which was about 300 hundred yards.
