That was our first reaction! But it sort of grows on you after the first night.:)

My oh my - that was absolutely hilarious ... loved reading it (and now I know I'll never try to write a review because mine would be SO boring compared to this).

Running off to throw my T-shirt in the wash now....there was one point I laughed and it made coffee come out my nose.......:p

When I get a chance, I'm going back to read your other reviews......

Glad you enjoyed it, but nonsense about not writing a review. There are lots of different styles that are excellent reviews - and a lot of them are a lot funnier than mine - and more descriptive and of more use to people taking similar itineraries.

PS...Sorry about your shirt!:)

PPS...I got a chuckle out of your screen name. I used that very name while describing a port of call in my review of our Celebrity Infinity review - probably the only time I have ever written it.:D

Oh my gosh. This was hilarious and such a good read (and that's saying a lot since I just had surgery on one of my eyes and I can see nothing but blur in it, but I pressed on because the entertainment was one in a million).

Thanks so much for this review. It brightened my day (it's raining here) and gave me something to concentrate on (while the kids are downstairs tearing up the house). Well worth it. :D

Thanks...glad you enjoyed it. I have always considered you one of the "Deans" of cruise reviews because of the detail in your reviews and the great photos. I have enjoyed them all - including your current one for the Breeze.

Ok, I finished your review. I am now off to search for your others. Oh, another wasted Saturday afternoon.

I have been on the Carnival Miracle, my first Carnival cruise and it was great. Went to Hawaii for my birthday in 2014. Once you get used to the grapes...

SailorJack, If you ever cruise from Long Beach again and want to stay on the Queen Mary, try using "Last Minute Travel Club dot com" We have stayed on the Queen our last 3 cruises and have got a room for around $120 for a deluxe OV which includes a self guided audio tour. Love your reviews.

Love, Love, Love your writing style.... Love the Miracle too! Thanks for your great review.. :)

Many thanks. I too have become a fan of the Miracle. As much as I would like to sail her again, I now would like to try another Carnival ship for comparison.

Thanks. I have bookmarked that website for future use. That is actually a little less than I paid for the hotel I did use. Many thanks!

This is the lobby bar and on the top side is the guest services department.

The elevators and dance floor in front of the lobby bar and the shore excursions desk in the left background. Everything was pretty centralized in the lobby area.

I have absolutely no idea what this room was or what it was used for. We found it when did our original exploration of the ship and never saw it again.

I looked at lastminutetravel dot com and got the Queen Mary for $106 for the nights I plugged in. Of course rates are going to vary by day and month, but I think that is the website welldone60 may have been referring to.

Not a bad website and the rates were pretty good. I will bookmark that site.

Thank you for a great start to my day!!! Work be darned, I couldn't stop reading and laughing out loud! At least those walking by me at work think I am a very happy person who loves her job! You are quite prolific! If you ever write a book, please let us know....I think you could sell out by Cruise Critic members alone! Glad you enjoyed Carnival!

Thanks the clarification, I was trying it with the word "club" in it and wasn't getting anywhere. I will check it out. BTW, LOVED your review and I'm glad you enjoyed your Carnival cruise.

A word of caution from someone who's been on 26 Carnival cruises, we enjoyed the Spirit class ships the best, so use caution when you choose your next cruise. The class of ship can make or break the enjoyment level :)

Thanks. I did a search of it and found out that it is apparently not used for much, but that the kids like to hang out there. Appreciate the info.

The Miracle was our first cruise. We loved the ship and our 14-year-old DD loved the fact that she could walk around by herself (within reason). She loved Gatsby's Garden. Some of the kids that she hung out with would get too noisy. I told her that she either had to get them to quiet down or not hang out with them- I did not want to be talked about on CruiseCritic. The kids that she was really close to would go with her to Gatsby's Garden and talk and hang out. It felt like their own private club. Brings back memories. I was reading this review and my DH kept looking at me oddly. I made him read the review and he loved it.

You confirmed what I had heard about the kids using the Garden as a private club. In retrospect, that may be why we didn't notice a lot of teens around the ship - they had their own area. Thanks for your input.

A couple of shots of the Library on the Miracle. This was a nice quiet place to hang out.

An example of some of the artwork that could be found around the ship. I found it interesting, but was somewhat surprised given the number of young children onboard.

The ship had tables set around the pool to sell cokes, beer, wine etc. We were sitting around the pool eating ice cream for a little while and did not see many takers. In fact, while we were sitting there, the wine stand closed up shop.

One of the more unusual events we saw on the Miracle was the Dr. Suess parade. Granted we had never been on a cruise before with this many children, but we were impressed with the way that Carnival entertained them.

After the announcement, families started gathering in the main lobby area.

26890380355_f2755378e0_b.jpg

Each child was given either a noisemaker, pom poms, or a standard. (I didn't get any of them!)

Then everybody was lined up in a serpentine line to await the arrival of the Dr. Seuss characters.

Finally, our of chaos order emerges and the crowd waits for the Dr. Seuss characters to lead the parade.

The Cat in the Hat makes his appearance and the parade is off - it winds through the casino and around the deck. In the 20 or so cruises we have taken we have never seen anything quite like it....on of the reasons we were so impressed with Carnival.:)

One of the things Carnival does VERY WELL is keep the kids entertained. My grandkids like Carnival's children's programs better than any other cruise line.

As I mentioned before, we have never sailed on a ship with so many children. That said, except for the parade, we don't remember having seen them again -which shows just how well the children were entertained. We were very impressed!
