Upsell How Far Out?

How far out will the upsell line be willing to upsell? I am thinking of trying for our July sailing.

Most posts say around 30 days out.

We sail May 17, I phoned today and was told to call one week before departure. I suspect there is no set time. The agent did put me on hold and came back on the line saying there were no offers right now.

Our cruise is in 2 weeks and all upsells are SOLD! I started to get email offers 4 weeks prior to sailing. Sometimes you can wait, sometimes not!

I am exactly 30 days out. Plenty of Haven Courtyard PH available, I took the last H6 (there were 3 available on Monday). They wanted $1k PP to move from our unassigned BX to the H6, I offered 750, they took 850. Very happy - got a $7,500 room for $4,000.

 

I wouldn't call any earlier than 30 days out, but for a mid-Summer sailing I would imagine upsells are more rare. Best of luck!

Our cruise is in 2 weeks, upsell offer came at about 34 days out. We took the upsell. Went from a balcony to an SD for $400 more pp. I am glad we took the upsell when we did because the SDs sold out.

Got another one yesterday which we took! Owner's suite! Hot tub on the balcony! yes. Pride of American, Hawaii.

Congrats! That is absolutely the best room to do Alaska. We sailed on the Jewel last year in a forward facing penthouse and spent hours each day whale and dolphin watching. We got invited to a glacier watching party in one if the garden villas. We grabbed some hot wine and went back to our room which was far superior.

Plan on lots and lots of balcony time. We had our butler bring down deck chairs and deck blankets to supplement our loungers (which always got wet unless we pulled the cushions nightly).

It says BA-SF / XXXX And our room number (XXXX) matches the front room number on the deck plans...

We are 26 days out and they have not started upsells on our sailing yet. Looks like there are 7 empty suites on our sailing right now.

Was told yesterday there are no current offers for May 7 sailing. I also called about a week ago with same response. They did mention to watch for email offers.
