Royal Caribbean - discounted beverage packages now showing

Recommended Posts

In comparison to what?

It would vary to each person, as it may be a good price compared to another cruise line or to someone's drinking habits /daily spend when cruising. It is just too pricey for me.

So very true Mic.

The length of the cruise is a big factor in value for money on drinks packages.

Now on a 10 night south pacific cruise @ $59 aibp,we will absolutely murder them.

But shift to a 27 day cruise at say $64,its a no-go,we couldn't sustain that and get value.

Unless we check-in to a de-tox at the end.

My point is Length of cruise is a major determining factor,FWIW.:)

A good price is what you are prepared to pay for something, good value is whether you get your money's worth in your opinion.

A good price may not necessarily be good value.

And what one thinks is a good price / value another may not.

Exactly.

Although most people will agree that something is a great price when it's discounted, it will be of no value to them unless they can actually use that thing.

So true, a bargain for me is only a bargain if it is something I can use.:D

Exactly! It's not good value for me because I rarely have more than 2 glasses of wine at dinner. Since it's a special occasion I might have a cocktail on formal nights too. But if my brother was cruisingit would be an absolute bargain for him.

The Royal replenish, on the other hand ... I have 3 cappuccinos per day and I drink at least 2 or 3L of water a day. I prefer bottled water over tap water ... and I looooooooove frozen non alcoholic drinks ... so that package is a no brainer for me.

Have done several cruises and never bothered with the drinks package before - However this time sailing over Christmas and New Year so wondering if I'd be drinking more, and while its 20% off that adds some food for thought.

I really like the sound of the Royal Replensih package - thinking I might go with that and just pay for wines/cocktails on a per drink basis.

Cupcake Susie I've not sailed RCC before - what kind of non alcoholic cocktails do they have? Do you have a favourite?

I've never sailed anything before! :D I'm just super excited (and a planner) and I've read some of the cocktail threads here. Whenever we go out after I have a couple of drinks I switch to the non alcoholic slushies - I love pretty much anything as long as it doesn't have coconut flavour in it.

Just note there's no discount on Royal Replenish.

The discount is only on the Premium and Ultimate packages.

Is that AUD or USD?

The prices I am seeing in our cruise planner are in AUD Select *From $51.79, Premium From* $69.05 and Ultimate From*$76.90.

Nowhere does it state if these prices are before or after discount of 20%.

Can anyone shed any light on this? ;)

These were Australian Dollars we paid. I think the other factor is we are on the Ovation of the Seas Inaugural cruise to Australia and New Zealand, after being launched in April.
