Anyone receive casino BB offer or amazing rate after going home?

On our 4 night cruise, my husband got DOU card early on 2nd day, wine, chocolate strawberries, and steakhouse dinner for 2, but no BB. I'm curious how probable it is that a BB or super low rate offer will come in the next few weeks/months.

Husband is a bit baffled as to how he didn't get a BB. We have a friend on same cruise, first time cruiser, who ran much less money through than DH, and never got a single comp (not even the DOU card) but was given a BB. On the second to Last night when he (the friend) asked how close he was to a DOU card the host told him he was 1/2 way there. No idea at all how he managed to earn a BB but not a DOU

If you've received a great offer after getting home, how long after the cruise did you get it and was it via snail mail or just something that popped up under your VIFP offers?

Thanks!

I started receiving mine about 6 months after getting back off my last cruise. The discounts seemed to have stepped up with each mailer but at the end of the day, the casino rate saved me like $350 on my balcony for a 7 day Western Caribbean. I believe I have some casino cash coming to me once Im on board as well.

We've been getting those offers for a while. I meant one of the $50/pp offers. :)

I usually receive the letter the last night of the cruise with the bounceback offer. If I already have another cruise booked they don't give me a letter, they tell me to email or call carnival casino to find out what bb offer I am entitled. Then you must book it within two weeks and cruise within six months. I have never had a $50/pp offer and my bounceback offers never show up under my VIFP offers. My Premier offers do show up under my VIFP offers.

I would email casino@carnival.com and ask if you entitled to a bounceback cruise. Sometimes the letters get lost. No harm in asking. If your husband had more play than the friend and he got one, I would ask. I never heard of anyone getting a free bb cruise and not earning the DOU card.

just wanted to add...

My last two cruises (both on the Pride) were booked with the $50 p/p cruise fares...they both came with $100 OBC :D so pretty much free.

One popped up on a Monday for the 12/13/2015 cruise.

The 04/15/2016 cruise, popped up the very next day (Tuesday), jumped on both of them;).

That is exactly what has us so confused. Our only guess is that is because he is a blue card so they wanted to get him hooked on carnival! LOL

What is a bounceback offer? We have dropped a bunch of money in the casino and was just on the Breeze and met the dou quickly but didn't do anything with it because we had the cheers program. In the past we have gotten gift baskets, but I have had to call about them. We had onboard credit but never had a bounceback cruise offer. Thanks for the information.

It had to be an oversight. I would call and ask, maybe the card they usually put in your room just did not make it or got put at the wrong room. No way you got the points for DOU and not a BB offer. We always gets a BB offer but only sometimes make it to the DOU.

I talked to the casino hostess and she confirmed he was not on the list. She seemed a bit confused too, so who knows what's going on! I'm still hoping one will pop up in his VIFP offers!

In Sept. last year, i got dou card, steakhouse dinner and wine comped, strawberries and cookies sent to our cabin. No bb offer, and only one casino offer since returning, which i have booked on. No offers since, no pack and play offers and no more premier offers. So yu can get the DOU card, and not get a bb offer.

On a 7 day cruise, reaching 1500 points gets you the drinks on us (DOU) card. 5000 points gets you a bounceback (BB) offer. A BB offer usually comes as a letter delivered to you on the last night of the cruise that gives you a free interior cabin (taxes and port charges not included) that has to be booked within 2 weeks and taken within 3 months. There are variations to this like having 6 months to sail, etc. If you already have a future cruise booked, you usually won't receive an offer. Again, there are variations to this like you could receive a letter stating you already have a cruise booked, so call to see if your booking can be converted, etc.

As you can see, no one should receive a BB offer without receiving a DOU card first. But, who knows what leeway they have in doing such things.

My DH received a BB offer on our 3/20 Splendor sailing and DID NOT get a DOU card. I played just as much as him on the BJ table PLUS I had 1000 pts. on the slots, but no BB offer for me. We already had 2 cruises booked for next spring, but I am the lead passenger on both bookings.

All of these facts seem to contradict what has been said about BB offers, so who knows.

Do you know if he had earned the 1500 points for the DOU card and they just didn't give it to him? I ask because on the last 2 cruises I have been on, I had to go to the cashier desk and ask for my DOU card when I went over 1500 points. Prior to this, they would just bring it to me while I was on a machine.

I got a BB offer on this last cruise and I did have over 5000 points. I was told by 2 different casino hosts on 2 different ships that this is the formula used to qualify for a BB.

Maybe you didn't receive the offer because you were listed as the lead passenger on your booked cruises?? I get the free interior room offers quite often but NEVER when I have another cruise already booked.

That is my experience as well. The host on the Paradise told me I would have qualified except I already had another cruise booked.

My solution? Only have one Carnival cruise booked at a time. It is working out perfectly for me, but Carnival is losing some of my business to Royal, who offered me a free cabin in August even though I have another RCI cruise booked in September.

I don't get why they do this. You would think that they would want to offer something to those of us who cruise with them often.

Of course, for the last 2 years or more, I've been getting the free interior offers (upgrading to balcony - can't beat them) - so, anytime I've had a cruise already booked it was because I was using one of these offers. Maybe that's why I don't get the BB when I've got a cruise booked - they know that the cruise I have booked was already given to me pretty much for free (lol).

Absolutely no rhyme or reason to their thinking...I received my DOU card late the first night on board back in April, and almost hit enough points to have done it again....Kind of thought we would either have a letter the last day or have an email or something...so far NOTHING....but an aquaintance of ours barely played in the casino and got an offer in the mail recently...REALLY Carnival?

One tip , next cruise make sure you talk to the put boss and casino manager often. Tends to make sure you get rated fairly and are a serious gambler.

That is a great tip, and something we try to do on each sailing! :) We always do our best to talk to all of the key players in the casino as well as tip the dealers well.

The casino hostess was new to the ship (this was her first sailing on this ship) and extremely nice. Greeted us both by name every day, checked my card for a DOU several times on her own accord (but I never qualify for one, DH is the big player, LOL) and she bought me several drinks while I was watching him play. She actually seemed just as confused as we were as to why DH didn't receive a BB, but said she could only go by the report she was sent.

I told DH on the next cruise I'm going to let him play the tables alone and I'm hitting the slots. I enjoy BJ much more than slots, but at least on slots I have a clear idea of what I'm working towards and how close/far away I am to an offer. Not knowing what we need to do differently on the tables to qualify drives me crazy! haha

Just curios as a non-gambler, how do you get points? Is it every dollar you wager you get a point? I am guessing you probably lose more money than what the free cruise would have cost with the bb offer.

I've gotten the DOU card twice 5 months apart--no offers. The last cruise in March, went with my best friend--it was her first cruise. She went into the casino with me and played maybe $10 on the slot machines and she got an offer (not a BB offer or a free cruise offer, but a % off next cruise offer). Don't understand it.
