Wanderista Posted May 26, 2016 #4 Share Posted May 26, 2016 I just returned from Grandeur today actually lol. I was staying in a large interior cabin. It was my first cruise but I really liked the larger room a lot and I think it would be hard for me to stay in a smaller interior cabin after that, personally. The larger room has a vanity area and turns the closet into kind of a walk-in closet. I liked the layout a lot. The bathroom door was not near the main door and the room flowed really nicely. I was traveling with a female friend and we used a lot of the storage including the extra storage. I got lucky and got this room at a guarantee price. I do think I'd opt for it again if the price difference isn't dramatic. There were no windows but it felt like a good use of space.
GoldenDomer Posted May 26, 2016 #5 Share Posted May 26, 2016 If you have a choice for location, opt for Deck 7 or 8 aft. On my three Grandeur cruises, we found these locations fairly convenient to everything and quiet. I would avoid interiors on Deck 4 forward - most are directly under the casino. We had one of these stateroom's on Grandeur's sister ship, Enchantment. I believe we were directly under the casino women's rest room. We heard a lot of what we suspected were high-heeled footfalls late into the evening.
Rare DragonOfTheSeas Posted May 26, 2016 #6 Share Posted May 26, 2016 I would go for the extra space. Grandeur inside cabins are small. We have taken them a few times if we found a bargain. The bed will be so close [at least on one side] that you can not walk between the bed and vanity without stepping over the end of the bed. Also, I personally like the larger insides on deck 4. It is a perfect location for convenience. We did not have noise. YMMV.

Hi, I have a large interior inside cabin booked on Grandeur in January. Just wondering what your cabin number was. Thanks, Lisa
Wanderista Posted September 26, 2016 #12 Share Posted September 26, 2016 Hi, I have a large interior inside cabin booked on Grandeur in January. Just wondering what your cabin number was. Thanks, Lisa I had to double-check this. I was in 7027. I will warn that it was near the service stairs and I thought I might hear noise from there but I never noticed any noise nor was bothered. If there was any, it was not enough to wake me from sleeping or it was not while I was in the cabin. The only time that the waves bothered me at all was during the first night when we went from the Chesapeake Bay into the Atlantic overnight. That was my first night on a cruise and it was a little bit of an adjustment. After that, I was fine. I did drink chamomile tea every evening which I had brought to me at the end of dinner - late shift. I slept soundly the rest of the time. I also adjusted to the ocean and didn't have a problem with feeling any waves, day or night, after that. If I think about it, the only time I would feel waves was in the bathroom in the front of the room. It was never enough to bother me and I wasn't in there all that much. Hope this info helps. cruzinlady1947 Posted September 26, 2016 #13 Share Posted September 26, 2016 Some people like those "sideways" cabins. I try to avoid them. I just don't like walking into the cabin in the middle of it. Bed to the one side and then the bathroom on the other side. They only fit a chair in it and not a loveseat or sofa. I just found them to be awkward, but some like them. These cabins are only on decks 7 & 8 that I know of. I only saw this type cabin on a cabin crawl, so didn't really experience it, but just didn't like the layout. I like the corner aft JS on deck 7, you get a walk in closet to die for....but, then, you pay for it.:p Gwen :)
