Robes

Why? Are robes for in cabin use only, if not where can I wear a robe?

A robe can certainly be used as a cover-up when going to and from the pool or spa. Just don't wear it to the restaurants, bars, casino, shows, etc. Common sense stuff there.

Yeah, you'd think so, right?

sorry, but I think the robes should stay in your room. Drives me nuts to see people down at the breakfast buffet in PJs and robes. Really people>? Come on. Ditto out smoking along the rails every morning, PJs and robes. Sad.

We book the spa stateroom. Use the robes to head to and from the spa. Otherwise, we do NOT don robes in any other area of the ship. If anyone out there wants to become a post on facebook, go on and wear your robe in a place not intended for a robe. I'll be glad to post you as a cheese monkey.

our last cruise in Aug, we had no robes in our cabin. I'll let you know if we have them on our cruise in 15 days! ;)

we dont use them, anyway, so its no big deal whether or not they're there

Robes are still available in all cabin types. Usually they're there without you needing to ask, but that's a little inconsistent. If you don't have one, just ask and your steward will provide it.

Regardless of some people's strong opinion, it is pretty standard resort etiquette that it's OK to wear your robe outside of your room on your way to and from the Spa or Pool, and it's fine in both those areas. In other locations, wearing it would be in poor taste.

I may have missed it - but did Carnival stop providing robes in the staterooms? Sorry if I missed another post on this topic. Didn't find any.

We had robes on the Freedom on our spring break cruise this year. I was sitting on the balcony of our room with my camera taking pictures and decided to take my things (coffee carafe and cup) inside. I slipped the camera into the pocket of my robe so I wouldn't lose it and I "lost it" for about 24 hrs. LOL:D I didn't find it until the next morning when I went to put my robe on so I could open the door for room service.

We just got off the Splendor. We had a balcony cabin and there were no robes in our cabin. It was listed on the form that they give you to check off what you want like morning or evening or both service for your cabin. There was a place to check off if you wanted robes. We didn't ask for them, but did ask for ice everyday. That was not on the list but we did receive ice everyday. Also, for any diamond/platinum cruisers, there were no chocolate covered strawberries either. We did get two plates of assorted sweets but didn't even measure up to the strawberries.

I use my robe when I go to the pool or hot tub at night when it is chilly/breezy. I don't stop off at the dining rooms, casinos, bars, etc. Not because I care what people think but because I think it's wrong. Some may think it's wrong for me to go to the pool or hot tub. Oh well. I hope they enjoy the rest of their vacation. :)

I always bring my own lightweight robe...you can never be assured they will provide one. Their's don't fit me right, anyway. In a pinch, your swimsuit coverup will work.

Just saw this post about robes, do you know if they offer different sizes or is it a one size fits "some"?
