Global Entry fee question

My understanding is that the fee for Global Entry is $100 payable when you apply. We've had it for 3 years and that's what we paid. I checked the CBP website and the fee is still listed as $100.

A friend is traveling to Europe this summer and wants to apply for GE. She's insisting that in addition to the $100 there are additional fees of @ $158. I can't find these "additional fees" anywhere on the CBP site. Do any of you knowledgeable travelers know anything about additional fees for GE or where she could be getting this info?

If you look at the wrong site . They have a fee. A visa service charges a fee for the service.

If she hasn't applied for GE already, she probably won't get it in time for a summer flight. See these current threads (among others) about application processing times for getting on-line approvals and then setting up the in person interview: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2358519, http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2365524.

It sounds like receiving conditional approval is taking weeks (when we did it in January I received mine in one day; my husband received his in 5 days) and now the wait for interviews can be months and months long (in January in Fort Lauderdale it was 2 months).

I just read a story yesterday (I can't remember where or else I would link it) that said while some places have weeks/months wait for the interview...there are others that you can get it in a few days. The gist of the story was to look around and find other places (if possible) for the final interview part.

Most have a wait. Some like my airport was excessive.

They just started a trial in San Francisco going 7x24. That opened some of this up.
